Here's what Fuquay-Varina got for "the biggest snowstorm for decades" in North Carolina... 2 whole inches. I'm actually mad that we got the least of every town around us. We were the center of the "hole." After I had to move heaven and earth to cut my trip to Dallas short and come home a day early to beat the storm... for a measly 2 inches of snow at my house.

There was more snow where I was im the Dallas area!

I really would have liked for us to get what surrounding areas got; since snow itself (not ice) is a rare occurrence here these days.

Adding to the irritation is that I had to navigate 2 cancelled flights to get home BEFORE anything even hit... but Scott has a trip out today and they have NOT cancelled his flight! How does that make any sense???

Ok, venting over... Happy for those of you who have real snow to play in today! 💖 I might have to go to Sierra's apartment in Durham to play im the snow... she got a lot.more than we did!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Every Christmas Eve, we do PJs and a new book. This year's PJs were sponsored by Santa Claws! We all are adorned in PJs with photos of our respective cats' faces on them. Hilariously dorky... and all loved them!

The biggest thing I love about this time of year today is prioritizing quality time with our (adult) kids. Connection, play, laughter, and love nourishes the soul! 💖

It was a great day yesterday celebrating Bryanna's 29th birthday with her! A group of us went rollerskating at the rollerskating rink, and I felt like I was 15 again. Though and I used to rollerblade often with the girls when they were kids, I hadn't been on the "old-fashioned" rollerskates and in a rink like that for a longggg time...

Since she's been doing roller derby for a few years now, Bryanna outshone all of us, but that didn't matter. We all had a LOT of fun!

On our way out, we photobombed a kid's party setup for this Hello Kitty pic lol...

, Derrick Raynor, Mark Kirk, and .goss76 (who tested for her 3rd degree black belt) here with us, and all the others in our school with whom we share this fever!

Now what, you ask? Duh... a fun form workshop with deerhorn knives! What else would we do the day after testing???

Then off to Rocky Mountain National Park for some nature/hiking time. 🏞
