Did you know that you can support local even with payment processors?!
No really, it's true! When Square pulled the stunt we are trying to work through, and they hadn't paid us for a full week (at that point), I knew I needed to call Allen from Oak City Payments. When I reached out to Allen, it was 7am on a Wednesday, I gave him a quick run down of what we were experiencing, and asked if there was any way we could get something working ASAP to start receiving payment for services rendered. Allen was at our office within 3 hours (and he honestly probably would've been there sooner, had my schedule allowed🤣). He had apps on all our phones to take payments set up within a day, and a new payment terminal at our office within the week. It is not a permanent solution for us, but it is getting us paid for the time being and that's what matters! Once we find a new software with Allen that works for our business model and has the same level of integration we currently have, we will be switching again, but still sticking with Allen! It's awesome that he's partnered with several payment processors, that he's not only getting us paid (unlike Square, still🙄), he has been able to SAVE us money in processing fees, too! Sometimes it literally pays to support local!
