Greetings followers. 👋
I came across this flyer in my beloved hometown of Fuquay-Varina and wanted to share with you all. When I say the word, "therapy" what comes to mind? Most people would say physical therapy or massage therapy, but there are so many other forms of therapy. Such as ART therapy! I am no artist but I can say this is an area that peaks my interest and here's why:
🧠Art therapy provides a safe and creative space to explore and express emotions, especially those that may be difficult to verbalize.
🧠Art therapy can help reduce stress and anxiety just by engaging in the creative process.
🧠Art therapy helps improve self-esteem and self-awareness: The act of creating art, overcoming challenges, and reflecting on the process can boost self-esteem and increase self-awareness.
🧠Art therapy can enhance communication skills by providing a different mode of expression and facilitating dialogue about feelings and experiences.
🧠Art therapy can help improve coping mechanisms by allowing individuals to adopt healthier coping mechanisms for managing stress, trauma, and other mental health challenges.
🧠Art therapy promotes mental and physical well-being and has been shown to positively impact both mental and physical health, with studies linking it to reduced symptoms of depression, anxiety, and fatigue.
🧠Art therapy can be used to address a wide range of issues, from anxiety and depression to trauma, eating disorders, and chronic pain.
🧠Art therapy can improve cognitive and sensorimotor functions, particularly beneficial for individuals with certain neurological conditions.
🧠Art therapy can also enhance social skills and promote positive social interactions.
Sounds like something to try out! Especially if you have young kids who struggle with emotion regulation. If you are interested, here is the information below.
Happy Tuesday!! 🫶
