Deathwalking isn't only Winter work.
Spring Cleaning isn't only for houses.
It is our opportunity to shake out the final dregs of the Dark Time and create a space that best honors the present, to consciously go forward.

Spring is a good time to:
~Update witch jars
~Re-affirm boundaries
~Strengthen wards
~Plant dreams
~Release clutter (inside and out)
~Tend shadow parts
~Thank the darkness
~Celebrate warmth

How do you honor this equinox?
Wishing you all a glorious return to the lighter seasons!

Systems built on fear consume the future.

Fear teaches people to protect power instead of life.
To silence truth instead of listening, believing.
To sacrifice the vulnerable in order to preserve control.

Over time, fear becomes a culture.

And cultures built on fear begin feeding on the very generations meant to carry the world forward.

The future cannot grow in a system that is constantly afraid of it.

Life requires something different:

Safety.
Belonging.
Courage to protect what is coming next.

We are all born animists.

I say this in classes all the time.
I say it in "From Elder to Ancestor."

Every child knows the world is alive.

Trees have presence.
Toys are companions.
Animals are relatives.
The wind is someone, not something.

Children speak to rivers, listen to birds, and sense the mood of a forest without needing anyone to teach them how.

Animism is not something we have to learn.
It is something we are trained to forget.

For what?
Maturity.
Acceptability.
So that we join the work force, get in debt, have kids, feed the top feeding predators.

A living world requires relationship.
And relationship requires attention, care, and responsibility.

The good news is this:
What is known in childhood
can be remembered again.

How you came here
is why you’re here.

The forces that shaped you,
the questions that followed you,
the places where your life refused to stay small…
none of that is accidental.

Your origin story holds instructions.

In times like these, the world doesn’t need people trying to be someone else.
It needs people who understand the medicine they carry.

How you came here
is why you’re here.

If you’re ready to uncover the story that shaped your unique gift to the planet,

Silence is an ecosystem.

It doesn’t exist on its own.
It is grown and maintained.

Fear feeds it.
Power protects it.
Disbelief waters it.

And over time, silence becomes the environment where harm learns how to survive.

People often ask why someone didn’t speak sooner.

But silence isn’t just the absence of a voice.
It is the presence of systems that punish truth.

If we want harm to stop thriving,
we have to change the ecosystem.

We have to outcreate the ecosystem of silence.

Because when truth is safe to speak,
silence can no longer grow.

Children aren’t currency.

They are not bargaining chips in systems of power.
They are not resources to be traded, ignored, or sacrificed for profit, status, or convenience.

Their bodies are for no one's gratification.

Children are the future elders of our communities.
The safety we offer them now becomes the wisdom that guides us later.

When a culture fails its children, it also fails its future.

Protecting children is not just a moral duty.
It is cultural survival.

Children aren’t currency.
They are the living promise of the world to come.

Child welfare and patriarchy cannot coexist.

Patriarchy is a system built to protect power, not people.
It teaches us to obey hierarchy, excuse harm, and look away when the powerful are involved.

Children cannot thrive in systems where authority matters more than truth.

Real child welfare requires something different:
believing the vulnerable,
protecting the small,
and holding the powerful accountable.

A culture that truly protects children must dismantle the structures that depend on silence and control.

Because the measure of a healthy society is simple:

Children are safe.
And power answers to them.

Our lore is full of stories about eating the children.

Cronus swallowing his offspring.
Aun killing one of his 10 sons every 10 years
to extend his own life.
Witches in the woods devouring the young.
Empires sacrificing children to feed power and fear.

These myths were never just horror stories.

They were warnings.

When a culture stops protecting its children,
it begins to consume its own future.
It is devouring its own lineage.

We are living in a time that asks a hard question:
Will we repeat the old stories,
or will we become the people who finally break them?

Safe children become wise elders.

A culture that remembers this
has a future.

our origin story
is the medicine
for this moment.

You didn’t arrive here by accident.

The places that shaped you,
the questions that never left you,
the ways you learned to listen to the world…

they are not random pieces of a past life.

They are instructions.

In chaotic times, cultures don’t need more noise.
They need people who remember why they came.

Your origin story isn’t behind you.

It’s the medicine you carry
for right now.

If you’re ready to remember what your story is asking of you,

Safety is the first altar.

Before wisdom, there must be safety.
Before strong elders, there must be protected children.
Before culture can thrive, people must know their bodies and their stories are safe in the world.

Safety is not a luxury.
It is the foundation that makes every other sacred thing possible.

When a child is believed,
when a survivor is protected,
when a community refuses to look away from harm…

that is spiritual work.

Because no ceremony, teaching, or tradition can root itself in a place where people are not safe.

Safety is the first altar.
Everything sacred grows from there.

I have many times said
I don't believe many things,
when what I mean is
I don't intellactualize
everything.
I feel everything.

One of the few things I believe
is someone's story.

When people tell us their story,
believing them is the first act of protection.

For generations we’ve been trained
to doubt the vulnerable
and protect the powerful.

So stories of harm are dismissed, minimized,
or buried until the evidence becomes undeniable.

What we’re seeing unfold around the Epi files
is not just about one man.

It’s what happens
when a culture refuses to listen
when people first speak.

Every time a survivor is not believed,
harm gets more room to grow.

If we want a different world,
it starts with something very simple:

Listen when people tell us their story.

More on pointe, listen to children.

Soul Intent Arts - Embodied Soul Tending Through Nature

I’m Kelley Harrell, and I believe we can do better.

I believe we all share the calling to be fit, embodied elders, who upon death become wise, capable Ancestors. To fulfill that calling, we must respond at a soul level. Through actionable animism I teach others to find their unique spiritual paths in support of their quiet dead, healed ancestors, fellow humans, and peaceful coexistence with the spirits of the land they live on.

I’m an author, lifelong deathwalker and animist, and the founder of Soul Intent Arts on traditional Sissipahaw land in North Carolina. As an ordained interfaith minister, I teach others to ethically build a thriving spiritual path. My work is Nature-based, and focuses soul tending through the Elder Futhark runes, animism, ancestral healing, and deathwork.

Elder well, Die well, Ancestor well.
