Clothing and Gear Drive!

We are collecting donations for Fostering Hope, a local organization that offers free support and resources to children experiencing foster care.

If you are doing some spring cleaning, we are happy to accept your gently used clothing (all genders and sizes, preemie through teens) and children's gear (think: strollers, carriers, monitors, etc). While thankful for any and all donations, there is currently the most need for NEW spring/summer pajamas in all genders and sizes.

A bin for drop off is located outside of our office, or if you prefer, pickup can be coordinated--just message us.

Spring is in full BLOOM!

Here are a few ideas for bringing OT home this season:

1) Gardening is a jackpot for regulating tactile (touch) and proprioceptive (muscle/joint) sensory input! Recruit a little gardener to help with carrying new plants, pulling a garden cart, pushing a wheelbarrow, pulling weeds, and of course, digging in the dirt.

2) Bring Spring inside with a lower-mess sensory bin with kinetic sand for the dirt, flower or bug toys, little flowerpots, and gardening tools. Add some black beans as “seeds” to find in the sand and plant in the pots, too.

3) Focus on fostering a Growth Mindset this Spring by praising effort and process, instead of results. Fostering a Growth Mindset in our kids helps wire their brains to be resilient and positive, even when things get tough!

We can’t wait to witness all of the ways in which your children grow this season!

An 8-week summer program designed to prepare children for the new experiences that preschool will offer in a fun, supportive way.

This group is open to 2 & 3 year old children who will be entering preschool in the fall and will run from 9:30-11:00 twice a week.

We had a wonderful first collaborative Family Happy Hour this month with our special guests from Soulcare Therapy and Assessments! While the kids played, caregivers had the opportunity to learn about strategies for managing anxiety in kids.

🌟Take-home tip: “Name It to Tame It!” 🌟
Give anxiety a name or character (e.g. “The Worry Monster”, “False Alarm Brain”). This creates psychological distance from the anxious thoughts. Anxiety is not you- it is something happening to you! You can say, “That sounds like your worry brain talking. Let’s check if this is a real danger or a false alarm.”

We will be operating on a 2-hour delay tomorrow (planning to open for patients at 11:00 instead of 9:00) due to potential icy road conditions. If conditions remain unsafe as the day goes on, we will reach out directly to families that may be scheduled to cancel.
