Congratulations Dr. Cashman! We are proud of you, we appreciate all you do for Rural Health!!

We are proud to share that our own Jeffrey P. Cashman, DO, has been elected the 165th President of the South Carolina Medical Association.

Dr. Cashman, associate dean for curriculum, assessment & medical education and associate professor for family medicine, is making history as the first DO to serve as president of the statewide medical association. He will be formally inaugurated during the 2026 SCMA Annual Meeting on April 24–25 in Charleston, South Carolina.

Beyond his leadership at VCOM–Carolinas, Dr. Cashman is a husband and father of three, pictured here on their recent trip out west!
