The holidays are coming… and so are the in-laws.
If this season brings up stress instead of sparkle, you’re not alone. Here are a few gentle reminders to help you stay grounded:

• Set clear boundaries.
Decide what you can offer this year in terms of your time, energy, and emotional availability, and honor that.

• Have a plan with your partner.
Agree on signals, exit strategies, or phrases that help you stay connected and supported.

• Protect your nervous system.
Take short breaks, breathe, move your body, or step outside for a reset. Regulation is not avoidance, it’s care.

• Release the pressure to please.
You can be polite without abandoning yourself. Your needs matter.

• Focus on one person who feels safe.
Even one anchor can make gatherings feel more manageable.

Holidays can be beautiful and complicated. You’re allowed to take care of yourself through all of it. 💛

In therapy, you learn how to set boundaries, understand your emotions, and respond to stress instead of carrying it alone. It gives you space to slow down, check in with yourself, and build the kind of habits that support long-term mental health.
