I’ve been a bit reluctant to make this post 😢
This little business was so good to me. I’m so grateful for my time as a doula and that it allowed me to stay home mostly full-time with my kids for 3 years, but we made the decision for mama to go back to full-time work (and a bit more stable schedule 🤪 - though I do miss the excitement a 2am phone call brought!)

To my clients: Thank you so much for putting your trust in me! I’ll try to check in on this account and keep up with yall but if you want to follow me on my account it’s and of course my line is still open for you to reach out to me anytime!

My final childbirth class will be next Saturday in Gainesville. If you know anyone interested please have them reach out to me ❤️

🧰 Tools of the Doula trade: TENS Unit ⚡️
AKA the “Purple Pal” lovingly renamed by a mama using it during labor 😆

The TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) unit delivers mild electrical stimulation to areas where electrodes are placed. For the laboring mom, we place four electrodes: two on upper back and two on lower back. We have the Elle TENS unit, and it is made specifically for use during labor.
Aside from our hands, this is now our most used labor ‘tool’ 🤗
*Not recommended for use by anyone with heart conditions or a history of seizures.

Postpartum preparation : Meal preppers! 🥘

✨ A new baby requires a lot of time and energy. That time has to come from somewhere else, and unfortunately, we see too many families skip on wholesome meals during this time. You can get ahead by freezing meals to heat later yourself, or outsource it! If you have long distance family asking how they can help 👉 donate to your meal fund 🎁

Here are a few meal preppers serving northeast GA:

- Pickup and delivery options, Jefferson and surrounding areas
- Delivery to Buford and surrounding areas
AND - They have several heat and eat meals ready daily

We realize this is not everyone’s cup of tea, but if it’s yours, read further 😜

A few highlights about the way Birth and Bokeh Doulas does it:
⚫️ The entire process is completed in your kitchen over the course of 2 days, approximately 2 hours each day.
⚫️ You get to see the process, if you wish, start to finish.
⚫️ Nothing is left behind except for the finished items. No trash left behind and a thorough cleaning of the workspace is completed each day before and after 🧽🫧

Between myself and Chelsea, we attended 3 births within 3 days. That’s a lot for us. 3 unique birth stories. 2 moms were even on the same hallway for a short time.

Now I’m editing 2 birth story videos. I was present for birth, and now I get to stare at these frozen moments. 1. It’s birth, so it’s kind of a big deal. 2. It’s a big reminder that these families didn’t just allow us there-they INVITED us to be with them during these moments 🥹🥹
