Magnetite is the material used on compass needles. It comes from iron which comes originally from stars light years away that collapse into a very dense core causing great heat which then explodes and throws out iron dust which is in the brains of sea turtles which when hatched. A memory of where it is according to the particular magnetic "signature" of that place on earth. That's how they can swim far out in the ocean and find there way where they were hatched. That beach is where they lay their eggs! It's called GEOMAGNETISM.....MIND BLOWING!
