FIRST IN FLORIDA!
On Tuesday, April 20, 2021, NFRMC’s Structural Heart Disease Team was the first team in the state of Florida to implant the Edwards PASCAL CLASP II TR transcatheter device as a part of the Edwards Lifesciences PASCAL CLASP II TR Pivotal Clinical Trial. This clinical trial evaluates the device for the management of patients with tricuspid regurgitation who have been determined to be at intermediate or greater risk for tricuspid valve surgery by the Structural Heart Team.

NFRMC was the first site in Florida activated for this clinical trial and is now the first site in Florida to successfully perform this procedure. The patient did very well and even went home the next day! This new clinical trial offers those with tricuspid regurgitation a new, minimally invasive treatment option for a disease where few effective options are available for patients.
