We have been quiet for the past several months, but boy have we been busy!!
Substance use disorder, more commonly known as addiction, is a lifelong condition. While the obsession, compulsion, and often times even the desire to use, may leave the person, the underlying disease process usually remains. There is no program that can ”fix” us, rather teach us to live a new way of life.
I have said this over and over, I don’t HAVE to live this life in recovery, I GET to live this life! What a privilege! This life is a life of serenity, joy, and freedom!
We are beyond excited to finally announce the opening of the second ✌🏼 Recovery Cafe in Florida right here in Putnam County! This is HUGE!!
Ok, you’re probably wondering, “what is a Recovery Cafe?”
In 2003, a movement was started in Seattle, Washington as a direct response to the critical, unmet need of long-term recovery support for those who suffer on the margins – forgotten or ignored.
Programs that will be provided at the C.A.R.E. Center Recovery Cafe are designed to help its members build a holistic, person-centered system of care – backed by evidence-based best practices – that engages individuals for a lifetime of managing their wellbeing and empowers them to build a life that realizes their full potential.
At the C.A.R.E. Center, we will provide a safe space for members to grow, learn, and share in their recovery journey!
How???? Well, that’s where YOU 🫵🏼 come in! In addition to the established program, we want to know what you think. What meetings do we need to offer? What days/times do we need to have the doors open? What resources does this community need? Etc…
Please stop by this Thursday, August 15th, anytime between noon and 6pm and share your thoughts with us. You can also grab some free food and a drink from Galactik Nutrition. Mike and Sheila will be giving a portion of the proceeds back to the C.A.R.E. Center!
