An agency of UF Student Government, ACCENT is the largest student-run speakers bureau in the nation.

Founded in 1967, ACCENT strives to bring prominent, influential, and thought-provoking speakers to the University of Florida. Featuring past presidents, award-winning actors, sports icons, business leaders, world-renowned scientists, notable authors, and many more, ACCENT proudly serves the UF community as the largest student-run speakers bureau in the nation.

ACCENT Speakers Bureau proudly presents for our first show of the Fall 2024 Semester! The show will take place on Tuesday, September 17th, at 7PM at the University Auditorium.

Ke Huy Quan is an Academy-Award winning actor after making his vicarious and commanding comeback to the entertainment arena. Ke began his acting career starring in “Indiana and the Temple of Doom” and “The Goonies”, where he then took a break to work extensively on the development and directing side of multiple film projects in Asia. Ke returned full time to acting in 2022, starring in the critically acclaimed and award-winning cultural phenomenon “Everything Everywhere All At Once” where he won multiple awards for his performance and helped the film become the most decorated film at the 95th Oscars. Ke can most recently be seen in the second season of the Emmy-nominated series “LOKI” on Disney+, and the Disney+ series “American Born Chinese”. Ke will next be seen in the Russo Brothers’ “The Electric State” for Netflix and has also recently announced that he will be starring in the upcoming Universal and 87North’s new action film “With Love”. The conversation will consist of topics around Ke Huy Quan’s early career, his experience in the entertainment industry, his prestigious achievements, and much more!

This will be followed by a Student Q&A.

You will not need to pre-register for this event, but seating will be limited. The doors will open at 6PM. Bags will NOT be allowed inside the auditorium. Students with a valid Gator-1 ID will have free access for this show. It is recommended to arrive promptly in order to secure yourself a spot. We can’t wait to see you all there!

ACCENT Speakers Bureau proudly presents for our final show of the Spring Semester! The show will take place on Thursday, April 11, at 7PM at the University Auditorium.

Dylan Sprouse is a long-time actor and writer based in Los Angeles. Dylan is well known for his role, as Zack Martin, in the popular series “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” and “The Suite Life on Deck.” Dylan can most recently be seen in the film Beautiful Wedding, the second installment of the YA franchise based on the best-selling novels by Jamie McGuire following 2023’s Beautiful Disaster, directed by Roger Kumble and starring opposite Ginny Gardner. The conversation will consist of topics around Dylan Sprouse’s career, life as a child actor, the inspiration and creative process of being an actor, mental health & wellness, advice to students, and many more!

This will be followed by a Student Q&A.

ACCENT Speakers Bureau proudly presents for our second show of the Spring Semester! The show will take place on Tuesday, March 26, at 7PM at the University Auditorium.

Dr. Peggy Whitson is a veteran NASA and Axiom Space astronaut who has an incredible list of record-breaking accomplishments to her name: first woman to command the International Space Station twice (2008 & 2013); first non-military Chief Astronaut and most spacewalks (10) of any female astronaut, the most spacewalks completed by a woman (at 60 hours, 21 minutes total) and third most of any spacefarer; and at 665 days, Dr. Whitson has spent more time in space than any other American. The conversation will consist of topics around Dr. Peggy Whitson’s career, life in space, the inspiration and process of becoming an astronaut, women in STEM professions, commercial & private space flights, the future impacts of robotics and artificial intelligence on humanity, advice to students & many more!

This will be followed by a Student Q&A.

FAQs & Important Information Regarding our January 17th show‼️

1. Are bags allowed in the University Auditorium?

NO. Bags will NOT be permitted in the University Auditorium. There will be no bag check available. Please plan accordingly.

2. Who can attend the ACCENT show?

The show is only for UF students with a valid Gator1 ID. Please have your Gator1 ready for check-in through either mobile wallet or physical ID card. You can also provide your UFID number if you do not have access to the mobile wallet or ID card.

3. Do I need to purchase a ticket for the show?

No tickets are necessary. This show is FREE and only for UF students. Seating is first-come, first-served.

4. What time does the show start?

Doors will open at 6 PM and the show will begin at 7 PM.

5. Can the audience submit questions?

Yes! The audience will be able to submit questions through a QR code that will be available at the show.

Timbaland is a Multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning, super-producer, and artist, and is one of the greatest minds in music history. With more top-ten hits than Elvis Presley or the Beatles, he has taught the world to “say it with sound.” The conversation will consist of topics around Timbaland’s career, collaborations with legendary artists, the inspiration behind his music making style, health & wellness, MasterClass series, his online course for production and beat-making, and his music tech platform, Beatclub.

This will be followed by a Student Q&A.
