🌎 | On April 26th, our chapter of APhA-ASP hosted our Annual Global Gala, the college’s largest annual charity ball. All funds raised was donated to the Rural Women’s Health Project, a local nonprofit in Gainesville whose mission is to provide health services to those in need in our community.

An evening marked with immersive cultural experiences, attendees had a catered dinner from different cuisines, participated in our silent auction, and viewed the cultural talent show and fashion show. We are so proud to donate $1,500 to the Rural Women’s Health Project, and look forward to seeing you all next year!

On March 21-24, chapter officers and members attended the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition in Nashville, Tennessee. At the meeting, student pharmacists were able to network with other chapter members from across the country and attend speaker events, talk with professionals in our profession, and collaborate on various projects.

This year, our chapter struck a winning chord and received the “Chapter Achievement Award” First Runner Up in Division A for 2023-2024. We were also recognized with the region 3 “Operation OTC Medication Safety” and “Operation Diabetes” awards.

Lastly, we wanted to take the time to formally congratulate chapter officers that was awarded national appointments for the 2025-2026 year.

📸 | Charles Hang, immediate past GNV Vice President of Communications, was appointed on the National Communications Standing Committee.
📍| Isabella Ico, immediate past GNV Vice President of Policy, was appointed as the Region 3 Regional Officer.

As we enjoy the beginnings of our Spring Break, let’s take a look back at some events that happened this month!

🖍️ | On March 3, Operation Mental Health held their Wellness Walk and Chalk event. During the event, the chairs encouraged the student body and members of APhA-ASP to spread positivity by writing words of affirmation and drawings. This was in an effort to brighten the day of the participants and those who walked past to see the art!

🦑| On March 7, the Policy Committee created an innovative way to fundraise for Back the PAC, an effort to raise funds to support federal offices that are in support of pharmacy issues and recognizes the value of our profession. Inspired by the hit Netflix series, Squid Games, players participated in challenges seen in the show, as well as trying various Korean dishes!
