Unfortunately, fatty liver disease often develops quietly with many people having no symptoms early on, especially those with common risk factors like diabetes, high cholesterol, or weight changes. Without early detection, the condition can progress over time.

Evaluation may include blood tests or imaging to help assess liver health. Identifying fatty liver disease early allows for lifestyle changes, monitoring, and treatment that can help protect long-term liver health.

If you have risk factors or abnormal labs, call us at 571-248-0653 to schedule an appointment today! Early answers can lead to better outcomes.

What you eat plays an important role in liver health. A balanced diet with leafy greens, lean protein, whole grains, and healthy fats can help support how your liver functions day to day...and coffee often makes the list, too!

Here is a list of some foods that can help support your liver health!

✅ Leafy greens like spinach and kale help support liver detoxification and protect liver cells from damage.
✅ Cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower and Brussels sprouts provide fiber and antioxidants.
✅ Berries and grapes are rich in fiber and powerful antioxidants.
✅ Nuts, beans, and other legumes are rich in healthy fats and fiber and have been linked to a lower risk of fatty liver disease.
✅ Lean proteins such as plant-based options, low-fat dairy, and fatty fish help reduce liver fat.
✅ Coffee and green tea provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits that may reduce the risk of fatty liver disease.

The foods listed above aren't the only liver-healthy foods. A balanced diet with fiber-rich foods, healthy unsaturated fats, and plenty of water helps support optimal liver function.
