The University of Florida Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine proudly announces that MaryBeth Horodyski, EdD, LAT, ATC, FNATA, FNAP, has been elected as the next President of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Research and Education Foundation (NATA Foundation). She will officially assume office in June 2025.

Dr. Horodyski, a highly respected leader in the field of athletic training, currently serves as the Director of Research at at the UF College of Medicine. With more than three decades of experience in clinical research, education, and advocacy, she has significantly advanced the profession through her contributions to evidence-based practices and interdisciplinary collaboration.

This national distinction recognizes orthopaedic surgeons who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, scholarship, and service in the field.

Dr. Roach, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and complex shoulder, hip, and knee surgery, serves as an assistant professor at and holds the Wayne Huizenga Endowed Professorship in Sports Medicine. He is also a team physician for the Florida Gators, and provides care to athletes ranging from local high school students to USA olympians.
