Happy National Compliment Day!

Different compliments vary in impact depending on the individual. Some days people want to hear that you like their new hairstyle or the new shoes they're wearing. Other days they might need to hear something about how well the listen to others or how they are always there to offer guidance to a friend in need. Compliments in all of their forms carry different weight, but in some shape or form they are always appreciated by the individual who really needs to hear it.

Today think about the compliments you like to receive and how they make you feel. Then find a way to pay it forward to the people in your life to show them your appreciation for them, whether it be about their new shirt or how good of a friend they are!

Happy National Clean Off Your Desk Day! Whether you work/study from home or in an office space, maintaining a space that is clutter free and clean is better for your productivity and peace of mind in the long run! Take some time today or this week to pick up the things on your desk or your work space and throw away anything that you may not need anymore. Tiding up both helps keep your environment decluttered but it also helps to give a sense of accomplishment which can do wonder for your mental health on any random day!

This day is observed in commemoration of the day in 1948 that the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In these times of dissonance and uncertainty, where the feelings of insecurity grow exponentially day after day, especially in marginalized communities, it is important we remember the importance and significance of Human Rights!

This year's theme "Our Everyday Essentials" aims to reaffirm the values of human rights and show just how essential they are for humanity on the most mundane level! This day aims to re-engage everyone with human rights by demonstrating how even in the many ways they go unnoticed, shape our day to day lives. Human rights are essential and by remembering that we can bridge the gap between everyday experiences and human rights principles!

Human rights are positive, essential and attainable!

Today the GCCC acknowledges World AIDS Week. World AIDS Day was on December 1st, but during this entire week we want to shed light on this condition and uplift people living with HIV/AIDS and their stories.
