This Mental Health Awareness Month, I want to offer a different framing.
What if your mental health isn't a problem to solve — but a signal worth getting curious about?

The tension in your chest.
The breath you've been holding.
The way you stay "on" even when you're exhausted.

These aren't signs that something is broken.
They're your body speaking.
This month, we're slowing down to listen — to the places we've been bracing, holding, and quietly managing it all.
Because when we listen first, softening becomes possible.

What has your body been trying to tell you lately?

✨ Like, share, and follow Mindful Therapy with Keri for somatic wisdom, grounding practices, and reflections to help you slow down and reconnect this season.

As we close this month…

Take a moment to reflect.

Not to evaluate how you did. Not to measure your progress.

Just to notice what's here now that wasn't before.

What felt tender? What softened? What are you still learning to stay with?
There's no right answer. Only yours.

Drop a word below that captures something from this month — I'd love to hear what's been unfolding for you. 🌿

Care doesn't have to be big. It just has to be real.

The hand placed gently on your heart. The tea you actually sat down to drink instead of rushing past. The journal you opened without knowing what you needed to say. The moment you chose rest instead of one more thing on the list.
These aren't small things. These are the things.

We've been taught that care looks a certain way — grand gestures, perfect routines, productivity wrapped in wellness. But real care? It's quieter than that. It's more honest than that.

It's the moment you notice you're depleted and choose something soft instead of something hard. It's the breath you take before you respond. It's the way you speak to yourself when no one else is listening.

That counts. All of it counts.

You don't have to earn rest. You don't have to perform healing. You just have to show up for yourself — in whatever small, real way is available to you right now.

🌿 Follow Mindful Therapy with Keri for gentle reminders and somatic practices that help you recognize the care you're already giving yourself — and give yourself a little more.

Your nervous system is always communicating with you. The question is — are you listening?

Overwhelm. Shutdown. Irritability. Disconnection. These aren't character flaws or signs that something is wrong with you. They're signals. They're your body's way of saying: this is too much, too fast.

We live in a culture that rewards pushing through. That confuses exhaustion with dedication and speed with progress. But when we consistently move faster than our nervous system can hold, something has to give.
And it usually gives quietly — in the small ways you stop feeling like yourself.

Slowing down isn't giving up. It isn't weakness. It's actually one of the most intelligent things you can do for your healing, your growth, and your wellbeing.

Your nervous system doesn't need more pressure. It needs more permission.

Permission to pace. Permission to rest. Permission to go at the speed of something real.

🌿 Follow for somatic education and gentle tools to help you recognize what your nervous system is telling you — and respond with care instead of force.

The same rhythms that move through the Earth — cycles of rest and renewal, expansion and contraction — live within you, too.

And just like the Earth, there are places within you that are thriving. And places that are tender. Places that need care. Places that need time.

Here is a gentle reflection: how you relate to the Earth often mirrors how you relate to yourself. Do you rush? Override? Or tend with patience?

If you're able, step outside for a few moments today. Feel your feet on the ground. Let yourself remember that you belong to something bigger — and that you, too, deserve to be tended.

You are not separate from nature. You are part of it. Tend accordingly. 🌿

The same rhythms that move through the Earth live within you too. Seasons of rest. Cycles of renewal. Moments that ask for stillness before growth can come.

We wouldn't rush a seed. We wouldn't force a tree to grow faster than its roots can hold. We wouldn't ignore the soil and expect something beautiful to bloom.

And yet — how often do we do exactly that to ourselves?

This Earth Day, let nature be your mirror. Where are you being invited to slow down? To replenish? To tend to something that has been quietly asking for your attention?

You deserve the same patience and care you would offer the Earth.

🌿 Follow Mindful Therapy with Keri for somatic wisdom and grounding reflections that help you reconnect with yourself and the natural rhythms that support your healing.

This is where things begin to shift.
Not in doing more - but in relating differently to yourself.

If you met yourself with care today, what would that look like?

If you’re ready for a deeper space to practice this, the Somatic Awakening Retreat is an immersive experience of exactly this work. Early bird ends April 30 💛 Comment RETREAT below for more information!

When you begin to feel vulnerable, notice what happens inside you.

Maybe part of you wants to shut it down. Another part wants to figure it out, fix it, move on.

These aren't failures. These are the places that learned to protect you — and they did their job well.

Befriending vulnerability doesn't mean abandoning those protective parts. It means getting compassionately curious about them. Holding both: "this feels tender" and "of course part of me wants to protect."

That's where healing actually begins.

04/17/2026

Not the pace you think you should go. The pace you can actually stay connected at.

There's so much pressure to keep up. To push through. To be further along by now.

But your nervous system doesn't heal on a timeline. It heals in moments of safety. In small acts of permission. In the quiet decision to stop measuring your growth against someone else's pace — or the pace you thought you'd be moving by now.

Slowing down isn't falling behind. It's actually how you stay in the work. How you keep yourself from burning out, shutting down, or pushing so far past your edge that you lose the thread back to yourself.

The pace you can feel is the pace that lasts.

And that's enough. You're enough. Right where you are.

🌿 Follow Mindful Therapy with Keri for somatic practices and gentle reminders that real healing happens at the pace your nervous system can actually hold.

There is a rhythm to growth.
And your nervous system knows it.

This week, we explore: How to stretch—without snapping.

What does “just enough” look like for you right now?

At the retreat, we move at a pace your system can actually hold. Early bird pricing is open through April 🌿 Comment RETREAT for more info.

There's a pace your nervous system can actually hold — and it's probably slower than you think you should go.

Tenderness often lives right at the edge of expansion. If we push past that edge, we move into overwhelm. If we avoid it entirely, we stay stuck.

But there's a middle path: approaching and returning. Stretching and settling. Going just far enough to grow — and coming back to steadiness when you need to.

You're allowed to go at the pace you can feel. That's not falling behind. That's how real change happens.

This is where compassion begins.
Not when everything feels peaceful. Not when you've figured it all out.
But right here — in the middle of the contradiction.

When part of you wants to stay open and part of you wants to close. When part of you is reaching toward healing and part of you is gripping the door shut.

Both of those parts make sense. Both of them have a reason for being there. And neither one needs to be pushed away or won over.

Compassion doesn't ask you to choose a side. It asks you to make room for all of it.

That's not weakness. That's one of the bravest things you can do.

🌿 Follow Mindful Therapy with Keri for somatic wisdom and gentle reflections that help you hold all of yourself — with a little more kindness, one moment at a time.
