🚨 Scam Alert Notice for Our Patients 🚨
We have been made aware that some of our patients have received fraudulent phone calls appearing to come from Dr. Jolly on Caller ID. Please know that North Texas Vision Center has not experienced a data breach on our end.
This issue has been reported to the proper authorities and is part of a widespread scam affecting many healthcare providers and patients, particularly those with Medicare insurance.
📌 According to CMS, Medicare claims data was compromised in a national breach in May 2023 involving the MOVEit software. Here’s an excerpt from their official statement:
“A vulnerability in the MOVEit software made it possible...for unauthorized third parties to gain access to Personal Information that was transferred using MOVEit.”
If you received a letter from Medicare about this breach, we encourage you to:
✅ Contact Medicare directly
✅ Take the necessary steps to protect your identity
✅ Never share personal or medical information over the phone unless you’re sure it’s a verified source
🔒 Our office has all your medical information securely on file and will never ask for it over the phone.
Please share this with your loved ones who may be affected. If you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to call our office directly.
