NEW ACCESSIBILITY DISNEY TIP!✨
Hi everyone! I hope your day is going great!
Yesterday I got the chance to ride Disney's newest ride, TRON Lightcycle! Before I got on the ride I spoke to one of the Disney cast members, mentioning my disability... She showed me where I can test out the ride's seat before hand so I can find out if I'll be able to ride ok with my disability. She also informed me that this ride does have a more accessible seat for those who may have challenges riding on the "motorcycle like" seats. The accessible seat sits you up right like most typical rollercoasters. You just have to ask for it!
I'm glad Disney kept in mind adding some accessible seats while creating this ride. I was looking forward to this ride as I watched it being built during my Disney visits, BUT I was worried about how many people may find the "motorcycle like" seats a challenge. If you are in need to use the accessible seat, you may have to wait just a tid bit longer for it as not all the rollercoaster's trains have it.
Before I entered into the world of Tron I first tried out the test seat because I wasn't sure how well I would do sitting forward so much and having my legs bent and locked in a certain way. Getting off of it took a bit more work for me but I was able to do it. Even though I was able to ride on the motorcycle seat this time, next time I think I'm going to ask for the accessible seat. When you are on the actual ride, it does lock you in pretty tight! But it is a rollercoaster so it's important everyone is locked in for good! The ride goes fast and seems rather short but it is an AWESOME ride and I LOVED it! My back was a little sore after riding it but this isn't exactly the ride's doing, people do fine on this ride. For my back it could have been a whole mix of my Cerebral Palsy not liking the unique seating posture for long and the large amount of walking I did before getting on. Too much walking can lead to me having back, knee, and ankle pain. My back was back to being fine this morning. So yes, next time I'm going to try out the accessible seat and see how much of a difference it makes for me 😊
