This message came from a very dear client after the birth of her second child:

“The first time I gave birth I didn’t think I needed a doula, I had midwives so why would I need a doula?

For my second birth I learned why I wanted and needed a doula. My doula held space for me. She anticipated my needs as I was thinking them. She held my head literally in her hands when I felt like I couldn’t lift it up. She was a presence I wish for all mamas when they are laboring. Someone to love and hold you in whatever comes up.

Thank you to all the doulas for all the work you do. We need you.🙏🏽”
