Some people don’t lack support because they don’t want it.
They lack support because they simply can’t afford it.
And birth doesn’t wait for your finances to be in order.
The Birth Culture Doula Fund exists for that exact space —
where care is needed, but access is limited.
This is about being held.
Being seen
Being supported by someone who understands not just birth… but you.

Through this fund, families can receive full or partial coverage for doula care walking beside you through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
We also invite families to open their birth space to student doulas to shadow their mentors.
because building the next generation of culturally aware care providers matters just as much as receiving support.

Participants are selected based on income eligibility and doula availability.
This isn’t charity.
This is community care in motion.

Birth Culture Doula Mentor
Birth Culture is seeking experienced doulas to serve as Mentors for our youth doula apprenticeship program in:
📍 Gainesville, FL
📍 Jacksonville, FL
Our mentors support emerging doulas (ages 16–24) through ethical guidance, observation-based learning, and real-world birth exposure across hospital, birth center, and home birth settings.
This role is about guidance, modeling professionalism, boundaries, and culturally grounded care while helping shape the next generation of community birth workers.
What Mentors Receive
Stipend per completed birth observation
Additional doula compensation when supporting Birth Culture Birth Fund clients
Professional affiliation (not employment)
Opportunity to contribute to long-term community health and workforce development

It was great to see young people interested in maternal health. We didn’t have any goodies or giveaways, but they were like magnets to the information. They truly had the chance to grasp what a doula is and what it takes to support a pregnant family.
They initiated conversations around reproductive justice and raised concerns about the need for s*x education resources. Listen—our children are aware of what they need. They know they are the blueprint for our future. We have to create the stepping stones for them. That’s one of the reasons Birth Culture exists.

The Health Education and Training Center of Gainesville, Inc. (H.E.A.T.), in partnership with Humana, Inc., the Community Foundation of North Central Florida, and the Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area, Walmart, is proud to stand with parents and caregivers by providing free diapers to families in need. Together, we’re addressing diaper insecurity and building a stronger, more compassionate community.

Why Free Diapers Matter:

Easing Financial Strain — Diapers are expensive and not covered by most assistance programs. Our support helps ease the burden.

Empowering Parents — Dignity begins with access to essentials. Every diaper given is a step toward a healthier, more hopeful future.
