"I came to Kinetix due to an injury in the ankle (posterior tibia tendinitis) during a ⚽soccer game. I struggled with chronic pain in my ankle for a year before trying out PT and I was unsure I would ever get back to my pre-injury level. For context, I play soccer 3 times a week at a relatively high intensity. Kinetix was recommended to me by multiple friends and I’m glad I gave them a try. From the first visit, Jed Meyers (PT, DPT) and the rest of the staff actively 👂listened to the issues I was having and really took the time to understand them. During my time with Kinetix, I got a small meniscus tear in my left knee and plantar fasciitis injury on my left foot 🦶 playing soccer, and they helped me recover from those injuries too. Not actually a disease, degenerative disc disease is a condition in which pain is caused by a disc that wears down.
Several factors can cause discs to degenerate, including:
• Drying out of the disc with age.
• Tears in the outer portion of the disc due to daily activities and sports.
• Injury.
Unlike other tissues of the body, there is very little blood supply to the disc, so once a disc is injured, it cannot repair itself, and the disc can start to deteriorate. If DDD is causing you pain, our team can offer you proven solutions to help you find relief.
