Today is a powerful day, the dark moon coupled with the eve of the Chinese New Year — which is (as I am sure you have all heard as its causing quite the stir) the Year of the Fire Horse 🐎🔥 which comes every 60 years
Horse energy is a bold, fast, forward-moving… Yang, and of course fire is yang too, hot and passionate.
So yes this year might be filled with momentum, excitement and enthusiasm, yet it might also feel quite like “go-go-go” (which seems to be happening anyway which maybe or may not be a coincidence!) yet if we don’t intentionally cultivate out YIN, which is rest, receptivity, nourishment, softening and slowing down.
Horses are deeply sensitive, empathic, and spiritual beings. They feel everything. They mirror truth. They teach us presence, heart-led leadership, and clean boundaries.
This year, we can all tap into that, moving forward with intuition and integrity, and kindness.
3 practical ways to build yin in a very yang year!
✨ Slow your mornings down, take 3 breaths before you even get out of bed
🫖 Opt for tea over coffee
📵 One “soft no” a day (Sunday is still my sacred day to just BE - do you have a day you rest, body, mind, spirit ??)
Tonight I’m leading a qigong practice tonight to
🐍 Shed what finally needs to be released from the Snake year
🐎 Welcome the Fire Horse feeling centred and steady
🌚 Build and cultivate stable yin foundation so we feel balanced , and honour the dark moon energy
And .. I’m a Wood Ox, and Fire Horse isn’t exactly my “ideal match” 😅
Wood Ox 🪵🐂 classically like to take their time — steady, grounded, consistent. So this year I’ll be practicing intentional slowing down and choosing sustainable momentum. How about you? 💛
Do you know your Chinese zodiac sign — and how this year might affect you personally as the can make all the difference, and is fascinating and quite enlightening too!
