Dr. Reccoppa is a board certified psychiatrist in Gainesville, FL who has been in private practice for over 30 years.
He completed his education at Cornell University and the University of Florida. For many years, he worked in the correctional settings including serving in the past as the chief psychiatrist for the Florida Department of Corrections. He is currently the Assertive Community Treatment Team Psychiatrist at Legacy CMHC in Valdosta, GA.

MEET THE PROVIDER - Celena Heesch, DNP

Celena Heesch is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who graduated from the University of Florida with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in Women and Gender Studies in 2019. She obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University in Florida in 2023🐊

In graduate school, she completed rotations at Archer Family Health Care, the Villages, the VA, Shands Vista, Grace Pediatrics in Lake City, and both Child and Adult UF Springhill Psychiatry clinics.

MEET THE PROVIDER- Brooke Reccoppa, DNP.

Brooke is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who attended The University of Florida and graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2022. She specializes in treating Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Depression and Anxiety disorders. We are happy that Brooke made the decision to join the Sarkis Family in February 2023.

MEET THE PROVIDER- Dr. Elias Sarkis, MD.

Dr. Sarkis is a Psychiatrist who is Board Certified by the American Board Of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry. He is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He has special expertise working with children, adolescents, and adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He has lectured around the country and has been published in the Gainesville area. Dr. Sarkis founded Sarkis Family Psychiatry in the early 90’s and added Sarkis Clinical Trials a few years later.

"Modern-day cannabis is simply not the same as the plant used in the 1960s through the 1980s or even as recently as 10 years ago. New strains of cannabis are highly potent, making them more addictive and potentially more dangerous, and we are still trying to understand what the drug does to developing adolescent brains."
