UF Physical Therapy Equal Access Clinic

UF Physical Therapy Equal Access Clinic Providing high-quality, free physical therapy in Gainesville. Open each Thursday UF classes are scheduled. Walk-in patients welcome Thursday 6-8pm.

Who We Are: Students of UF’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program provide treatment under the supervision and guidance of local, licensed Physical Therapists. The relationship between the students and patients is reciprocally valuable. Students are able to enhance their learning experience using a hands-on approach, while patients are given the opportunity to receive quality care at no cost. Patients are seen by team of students who consult with a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to develop a treatment plan. Then treatment plan is discussed with the patient and implemented by the students under guidance of the licensed PT if necessary. What We Do: UF Physical Therapy Equal Access Clinic offers free Physical Therapy services to individuals unable to afford treatment elsewhere. The clinic accepts walk-in patients every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm (excluding University holidays). No referral is needed. Services provided include
• Physical therapy evaluation and treatment
• Follow-up treatment visits
• Blood pressure and strength/flexibility screenings
• Referrals to specialists
• Emergency medical referrals

Funding for Treatment: UF Physical Therapy Equal Access Clinic is strictly not for profit. UF faculty, local clinicians, and Doctor of Physical Therapy students volunteer to provide effective patient care. The clinic is funded by donations and outside sources via a 5K race organized by the students each year in the Fall. This event is designed to raise funds and promote community awareness of the benefits of physical activity and the services Physical Therapy can provide.
