Manifest Monday

Nourish your body with food and nourish your soul with a time out. This doesn’t seem like a go get ‘em slogan for a Monday but just as our bodies need nourishment from food, our minds need time to process without pressure. If you didn’t get some moments this weekend, consider taking some this week. Getting quiet, even for 10-15 minutes, is a game changer. When I take that time where I ignore my phone, my computer, and my ridiculous task list, I am calmer, clearer in my intentions, and more energetic. This is our mind/body connection and cultivating that into a daily practice does wonders for our health. So, next time you intentionally stare off into space, shut down, walk it off or zone out, you are actually engaging in a health habit!

Manifest Monday… starting the day 🌅 The energy you bring to the week starts here. Every day is another opportunity to manifest your own unique super power. We tap that energy and power to summon positive intent and make changes. Most of us already know that a healthy diet, exercise, and reducing stress are all great for managing or preventing disease. The challenging part comes when we actually decide to make changes in our behavior and then follow through with action. So, grab that power, create your intention, seize the day with action! Manifest Monday(time change edition) DEVELOPING POSITIVE HABITS ( like exercise) Every time we start a new habit, we come up with lots of ways to procrastinate. Sometimes you just need to show up, even if you don’t feel like it. Put yourself there at the time you said you would do it and that usually works wonders in breaking through procrastination.

If you have these 6 ingredients, you have a quick to make Cinco de Mayo ( or perhaps Cinco de Seis? ) side dish. Whipped this up while Jack picked up the Moe’s so we would still get a healthy dose of lycopene, beta carotene, vitamin C, omega 3 fatty acids, folate and anthocyanins. All of these nutrients support your immune function and taste AMAZING together.

I missed posting this yesterday so here we go for Saturday. This is the last meal made from my TJ shop. It’s a favorite in my house but doesn’t take long at all to make with the instant pot. It’s an adaptation of chicken tortilla soup, but it should be called “how to get Jack to eat more vegetables” 🥕🥑🥬🍅 Combining carrots, celery, tomatoes, black beans, and chicken with the savory addition of onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, oregano and lime juice is de-licious 😋 We spoon our soup onto fresh spinach leaves that wilt with the heat of the soup and then top with avocado and cilantro. So many anti-inflammatory ingredients and again, the leftovers don’t last long! What is your family’s go-to meal on a busy weeknight?
