Last month, GEMRU had the privilege of sending twelve of our responders to attend the 33rd annual conference in 📍Arlington, Virginia. They had the opportunity to hear from many amazing lecturers, practice their skills, meet other collegiate EMS providers, and have fun!

Just winging it ✈️

GEMRU had the chance to tour the ShandsCair hangar and learn all about medical helicopter transports! From chatting with flight medics + nurses to watching a helicopter land after a call, our responders got a real glimpse into the world of emergency transport care.

Prepared for the chaos🚑 - GEMRU’s semester mock MCI training

This semester, GEMRU held our semester mock mass casualty incident (MCI) in the University Auditorium, simulating a building collapse during a talent show. Our responders put their emergency skills to the test, preparing for real life situations that could occur right here on UF’s campus. Training is at the heart of what we do, and we could be proud of our team for their dedication, quick thinking, and teamwork under pressure

Last weekend, GEMRU had the privilege of attending the NCEMSF Conference in Pittsburgh! We participated in lectures, workshops, roundtable discussions, and more — gaining valuable insights and skills. Connecting with other collegiate EMS units from across the country was an incredible experience! ✨🚑
