OT Equal Access Clinic

OT Equal Access Clinic UF OT EAC is a student-run clinic that provides free OT services to the community.

We provide free occupational therapy services for individuals 18 years or older at our on-site and Telehealth clinics every Thursday by appointment. Occupational therapy can help address the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial challenges people face due to an injury, illness, or disability that make it difficult to complete their daily activities (i.e., the things people need to do and want to do). Daily activities range from getting dressed, bathing, eating, and cleaning to participating in hobbies like sports or playing music and getting around the community. Our vision is to improve the well-being and quality of life of underserved community members by providing equitable, client-centered care through (re)engagement in meaningful activities. To achieve this vision, the OT EAC will:
- Provide equitable care by integrating feedback from clients, faculty, clinicians, and community members.
- Deliver client-centered care by understanding the client's unique lived experience and evaluating and adapting our service approach to meet the individual needs of each client and/or family.
- Facilitate (re)engagement in meaningful activities through student service-learning opportunities focusing on prevention, promotion, education, adaptation, and restoration of clients' wellness. We view our values as
- Collaborative: We will partner with clients, students, faculty, and other professionals to provide high quality care.
- Service-oriented: We will prioritize the needs of the community. Fundraising will include supporting equipment acquisition for clients and families.
- Equality-focused: We will bridge the gap in disparity by providing services to those who are underinsured or uninsured in need of individualized care
- Invested: We will develop intentional, personalized, and quality care plans. We are committed to supporting our clientsโ€™ well being and quality of life and finding resources to support their (re)engagement.
- Dynamic: We are constantly evolving with the needs of the community and adapting programming to address these gaps in services in our area. We will continually evaluate and update the clinic processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of care. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please visit our website

Thank you to all of the faculty and volunteer clinicians over the years who have dedicated their time, efforts, and mentorship to the EAC! Our Story

The OT clinic is run through the efforts of both Doctorate-level UF occupational therapy students and licensed occupational therapists. The mission of the OT EAC is to provide occupation based therapeutic interventions to adults, 18 years of age and older, in Gainesville and surrounding areas who have limited access to traditional occupational therapy services. We offer treatment to adults 18 and older without insurance or whose Occupational Therapy benefits have been exhausted. The vision of the OT EAC is to improve the functional participation of clients in everyday life and to reduce healthcare disparities through collaboration with the EAC network and community outreach. We provide services including OT screenings, assessments, interventions, home care management plans, and client and caregiver advocacy. This clinic is held above the CVS on 13th and SW 16th street, and is open every Thursday of the month from 6:00-8:00pm. Walk-ins welcome! Call 352-888-4636 and leave a message, or email EqualAccessClinic.OT@gmail.com to make an appointment.
