WorkSource Georiga Mountains- Youth Services

WorkSource Georgia Mountains (WSGM) offers assistance to eligible young adults through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), a federally funded program. WSGM partners with high schools, technical colleges, colleges, and community-based organizations that are committed to the well-being and success of participants, and help to ensure that they are prepared to complete their education and become active members of the workforce.

Our College Assistance program assist eligible applicants who are wanting to pursue college or technical school. The applicants may receive assistance with the cost of books, tuition, and supplies needed to complete their educational programs. Assistance for transportation and childcare may also be provided.

The Credit Recovery Program assist youth participants who have dropped out of high school, or have been withdrawn from a credit recovery program, to retrieve credits for diploma completion. Eligible youth receive incentives for each credit recovered and assistance with transportation costs and daycare may also be provided.

The GED/Career Pathways Programs assist eligible applicants ages 16-24, who have dropped out of school, or eligible high school graduates may be offered assistance including obtaining a GED through funding for test fees, works skills/employment training and internships. Assistance for transportation and childcare may also be provided. The Transition to Success program is a collaborative transition program between WSGM, Lanier Technical College Adult Basic Education program, and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice School System. The program provides GED training and testing to youth who are incarcerated in the Hall County Regional Detention Center.
