Children can be complicated and keeping them on track in school can be challenging due to the rapid changes in their neurodevelopment and changes in the academic demands of every grade.
Middle-school transitions can be especially difficult for ADHD children and those with learning disabilities due to increased demands for multi-tasking, planning and organization. Even in gifted or bright students, such challenged can contribute to magnifying any social anxiety or school avoidance, and may contribute to escalating patterns of resistance which can evolve into an oppositional defiant disorder.
Children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, or even Social Anxiety Disorder often have co-occurring conditions which may explain why they may not be responding to initial treatment attempts or having difficulties with ever-increasing academic demands as they progress through grades.
While sometimes limited assessments can be helpful in targeting specific issues, cases which seem to be hitting a wall, deteriorating, or not responding to treatment may benefit from a more comprehensive pediatric or adult neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluation.
We specialize in providing comprehensive evaluation in often complex cases and have more than 30 years of experience in serving the North Central Florida Community with our main office in Gainesville and branch office in Ocala.
While summer provides a break from the stressors of school for students, it is a good time to get any needed assessments done before facing the challenges of the next school year, or to qualify for accommodations for SATs, GREs, MCATs, LSATs, Board exams, etc.
The comprehensive nature of the evaluations we specialize, has made participated as an in-network provider impractical, we do accept credit cards, and offer quite generous prepayment discounts. We can usually get students in quickly, but scoring and comprehensive reports typically can take 3 weeks to complete after testing is finished. So, now is the time the time to schedule assessments in time for the Fall.
