On behalf of the Florida Recovery Center it is with deep sadness that we share that Dr. Scott Teitelbaum passed away last evening, surrounded by his family and friends. Scott has been with the Florida Recovery Center since the beginning, and his impact on the lives of those in recovery, both locally and nationally, is too great to capture. He leaves behind five children and two grandchildren, and will be missed and mourned by so many.
A Funeral service will be held Sunday, 4/19 at 1:00 PM. All are welcome to attend
Forest Meadows Cemetery - Central
4100 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32606
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to https://giving.uff.ufl.edu/.../023155-uf-psychiatry.../
to continue to support his mission.
Words cannot express what he has meant to so many, and we appreciate the support during this time. Dr William Hollifield is stepping in as the interim medical director. And so, while we continue to grieve for his loss, we will continue to move forward because of him, for him, and to honor him. He truly brought FRC to life, and we will do what he would most want – to help those still struggling and provide a space for recovery. FRC will continue to navigate this time in grief but move forward in helping those find recovery to honor what he knew to be true, Recovery Works.
