So many mothers are choosing to pump either exclusively or to build up their stash to return to work, and expectations can be much different than reality. This article has a lot of good information if you feel like your output is not what you feel it should be.

Milk supply normally varies somewhat throughout the day and over weeks and months. As long as baby is allowed to nurse on cue, your milk supply will accomodate baby's needs. However, when mom is pumping part-time or full-time, pumping output can become an issue due to a few factors.

I just saw this and had to share because it is so ON POINT!! Why wouldn’t you want gravity to help you in this situation? It’s good to know all your options before going into labor, and hospitals do have squat bars to help get into the squatting positions.

This can be an issue for many moms during the postpartum period. One remedy I found when looking into it for a previous client was using milk of magnesia as a deodorant...and she reported that it really worked! Her tip was to leave it out in a little dish and it actually turned more into a paste to put on. If you try it, let me know if it worked for you!

This is such a fantastic service! So much preparation goes in to preparing for baby and the actual birth, but most parents are woefully unprepared for the reality of the first three months home with your newborn. I hope that Check on Moms will help many moms that might be struggling.

"Check On Mom" aims to provide support to moms as they face changes, including possible postpartum depression, in the 12 weeks following delivery and after.
