The Asbury Methodist Village Associates had a wonderful time at the recent Associate Appreciation Event, “Party at the Plex”.

Everyone gathered at the Asbury Sportsplex and enjoyed a variety of games, including Bocce, classic board games, and Basketball. They even challenged the residents to a friendly game of pickleball.

The event also featured great food and lovely company, complemented by some uplifting music. A big thank you to the human resources team and the engagement committee for organizing such a memorable associate appreciation event. It truly brought everyone together!

Asbury Methodist Village wrapped up Active Aging Week with an exciting lineup of events! The day began with a lively pickleball contest, where residents showcased their skills in friendly competition.

The State of Maryland Senior Bocce Olympics, held on our campus, featured teams vying for the spotlight as they rolled their bocce balls toward the pallino. We proudly received multiple medals, including gold, silver, and bronze.

In the afternoon, Hefner Auditorium became a lively dance floor for a wine and cheese dance featuring live music from the entertaining Swing Time Big Band. Friends mingled over delicious treats, and soon the room came alive with rhythm as everyone hit the dance floor.

From swing to foxtrot, chacha, and salsa, residents dazzled in their dancing shoes, sharing smiles and laughter in an unforgettable celebration. This was a fantastic way to conclude a week filled with fun and fellowship.

Asbury Methodist Village kicked off Active Aging Week in style with a rockin’ Rock and Roll walk led by our very own James and the fabulous Well-being team! Residents and associates strolled around the campus to the beat of some great tunes.

All participants received their T-shirts, and after a fun stretch, they all hit the pavement for an energizing and fun walk!

The fun didn’t stop there! In the afternoon, everyone gathered in the community Rooms for a fantastic Ice Cream Social, where residents enjoyed some delicious ice cream, engaged in lively conversation, and even showed off some dance moves to amazing music playing in the background.

We have many more events planned for this week, including a nutritional talk, rock painting, pickleball tournaments, and much more.

Here’s to celebrating community connections and the joy of staying active!

🎉✨We just kicked off an incredible celebration at Asbury Methodist Village with the grand opening of Fellowship Park! This vibrant new outdoor space offers residents an exhilarating way to enjoy the great outdoors.

Fellowship Park has a lively area featuring cutting-edge outdoor exercise equipment that inspires movement, boosts mobility, and fosters unforgettable social connections. Specially designed with a dementia-friendly approach, it’s a space where everyone can thrive and feel included.

There are also inviting gardening spots where residents can cultivate their green thumb and venues perfect for exciting events that will bring everyone together.

We are excited to have this amazing space. We can’t wait to explore, engage, and enjoy this fantastic new addition to our community! 🌼🌟🎈

Resident artists of Asbury Methodist Village gathered for an inspiring and artful afternoon at the Residents’ Garden. With sketchpads in hand, pencils, watercolors, cameras, and a creative spark, they captured the beauty of the flowers and vegetables grown by the community’s resident gardeners.

About 25 residents explored sketching, painting, photography, and other creative pursuits, showcasing the many ways creativity flourishes across Asbury!

Last week was an absolute blast at Kindley Assisted Living as we celebrated Assisted Living Week!

The festivities included toe-tapping music, a mouthwatering barbecue that had everyone’s taste buds dancing, and a spectacular superhero day where residents and associates donned their capes. We also had a spirited visit from the Asbury Clowns! And who could forget the tasty associates’ breakfast?

With sunny skies, smiles everywhere, and the helping hands from both residents and associates, this week was truly special. Here’s to many more joyful celebrations at Kindley! 🎉🥳🌟

Residents and associates of Asbury Methodist Village enjoyed a delightful presentation of Caribbean culture and cuisine during the Wellness Wednesday event, "Taste of the Caribbean," organized by associates from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, Jamaica 🇯🇲, Barbados 🇧🇧, and Trinidad 🇹🇹.

The event featured a variety of dishes, including rice and peas, pelau, baked chicken, pork, grilled salmon, oxtail, an assortment of sandwiches, baked Caribbean sweet potatoes, plantains, pernil, arroz blanco, moringa sonando, fish cakes, freshly squeezed lemonade, and homemade ginger beer.

Everyone had a great time trying new foods and learning about the rich cultures of these wonderful Caribbean countries.

Thanks to Nancy, the well-being team, the participating associates, and the dining department for organizing such a fantastic event!
