World diabetes day!! Hugs aren’t the only thing connecting campers, AYUDA, and Aprendiendo A Vivir here. Today and everyday, we celebrate the warriors who not only learn to live with their diabetes, but flourish with the condition. We hope this day is not only a reminder of the strength and courage of those part of the diabetes community, but also a promise to uphold our mission - educate, empower, and uplift people who live with type 1 all around the world. Happy world diabetes day!

Practice makes perfect! Our volunteers work diligently and become experts at taking blood sugars, administering insulin, and supporting all the campers who live with diabetes. All of the AYUDA team participates in teaching, training, and becoming comfortable with all these skills so we can be our best for camp each year!

¡La práctica have al maestro! Nuestros voluntarios trabajan diligentemente y se convierten expertos en glicemia, insulina, y apoyando todos los campistas quien viven con diabetes. Todo del equipo AYUDA participan en enseñando, entrenando, y sentirse cómodo con todos de estos habilidades, entonces podemos estar preparando para campo cada año!

We held Campo Amigo in Azua for the second year, and were so excited to bring diabetes education+empowerment to a different part of the country with ! Can’t wait for next year :)

Three whole days of Campo Amigo in Santo Domingo! Each day was filled with the smiles of our resilient campers and volunteers, teaching and learning more and more about type 1 diabetes. We never get tired of coming back!

Tres Dias de campo amigo en Santo Domingo! Cada día fue completado con sonrisas de nuestras campistas y voluntarios resilientes, quien eran enseñando y aprendiendo más y más sobre diabetes tipo uno. Nunca nos contamos de volver!
