Did you know this humorous holiday may date back to 1582 France? No, we’re not joking! Historians speculate that when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar—changing the beginning of the year from the spring equinox to January 1—news was slow to travel. This meant that some people continued to celebrate new year’s during the equinox, making them the April fools. 😂
