My Spring massage business is taking off like a rocket along with some "sad" and some "glad":
SAD: more 90 minute requests than ever. There is a lot of national stress out there.
GLAD: clients are grateful. I never received six 5 star reviews on TripAvisor in just over a week.

Throwback Thursday 1966:
When I was a retail buyer trainee for Sears I was asked to manage the Cosmetics&Pharmacutical Department because the manager was rushed to the hospital for a few weeks.
My warmest memory is Christmas Eve when desperate boyfriends, sons and husbands came to the department looking for gifts for their ladies.
We sold oceans of fragrances to grateful, clueless men. A fair number of men were tanked from office parties. I remember "Jean Nate" being a big seller. At that time Sears was not "cool" enough for major fragrances to sell us.
We had a great year because I just restocked the selling floor myself and let the experienced commissioned sales ladies work their magic.
Fun memories.

Throwback Sunday:
Son, Greg Moore, age 10 finished the 1979 Chicago Marathon and placed second in their "Age 12 and Under" category. Back then "Runner Magazine's" contributing cardiologist said at age 10 a child's heart was the biggest ratio to body ever so marathons were okay.
We sure enjoyed training for that adventure. He finished another one with me at 14.
I'm not sure why or when the minimum age changed to 18.

Yikes! Hard to believe there are more than 50,000 starters at the New York City Marathon today. There were only 5,000 when I ran my first there in 1977. Since then I ran 24 marathons with six back-to-back NYC/Chicago a week apart. Probably contributed to needing a second knee replacement :-)

I was delighed to see 49ers wounded rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall catch his first pass of his NFL career Sunday. The San Francisco stadium went wild. He is recovered from being shot while resisting a theft. So happy for him.
Nevertheless, my KC Chiefs won.

Throwback Thursday1960s:
This lovely lady reminds me of the time when sheer and thi-top stockings outsold pantyhose and Sears had the highest market share of all sheers hosiery in the USA.
Instructions for how to wear thi-top was to pull them up past the thickest part of the leg to rest under the crotch.
The new older male buyer of sheers hated and was always uncomfortable saying the word "crotch."
So one morning old Bronson came skipping into the office light of foot and with a big smile. When I questioned the source of his positive mood he said, " Thi-tops rest on the " gracilis muscle" I will never have to say 'crotch' again!"
Sometimes the best job for a man is a woman?
P. S. When I became buyer of that line and bras I had no problem with either word.

Hard to believe Covid helped empty grocery shelves over four years ago. It wasn't expensive "Tide" that theives were stealing- it was ordinary folk trying to get their unfair share of rationed toilet paper.
Hard to also believe I just got my fifth Covid shot this week.
