Both over 10lbs

one of them born to a mom having a primary VBAC 💪 10lbs 4oz at 41 weeks + 4 days

The other was a late transfer due to pressure from the medical community to induce at 37 weeks. She took her care into her own hands and changed her story to something she will cherish forever. 🥰 10lbs 1oz at 40 weeks + 3days

Everyone healthy and happy. This is why I do what I do!!

Reflecting on a prenatal visit yesterday where a mother is expecting her 6th baby (1st with my practice) genuinely thanked me for giving her information to make a decision about her care instead of forcing her or pushing her to do what I wanted her to do.

I am so happy that is her take away from our visits and also sad that this is a new experience for her after having 5 babies. This should be standard. Informed parents know what’s best for their families and should not be coerced into doing things they don’t want.

Many people don’t know that home birth midwives offer standard prenatal care including labs and ultrasounds. We monitor mom and baby throughout labor and delivery and provide a thorough newborn exam. The newborn screening will be offered in your home between 24-36 hours after birth. We will file your babies birth certificate and can continue to care for you and your baby for 6 weeks following your delivery.

Our care is individualized and tailored to each family’s needs. You have 24/7 access in case of emergencies or concerns and can take comfort in knowing who will be there to support you at the time of your birth.

My last January baby finally made their way, in their own timing and joined the February crowd. This big healthy baby made his mama work so hard! Honored to support moms through the hardest work they will ever do.
