It was the partnership between Jack Hinchliff and Richard Pearson that set the high standards of serving the public needs at the time of loss. They purchased the business from Jack Hinchliff’s father and another partner in the 1950s. In 1966, Hinchliff and Pearson had outgrown their Broad and North Street location. They joined with Chan West, owner of the Kimber and West Funeral Home, and built th

Deep grief comes only from a great love. It is ok to experience this grief while also appreciating the existence of the love. Give those grieving time, patience and acceptance. Love did not form overnight, and grief will not fade that quickly either.

I'M FREE by Anne Lindgren Davison

Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I’ve found that peace at the close of day
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much,
Good friends, good times, my loved one’s touch
If my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart, rejoice with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

Talking Parrot

One day a man went to an auction. While there, he bid on a parrot. He really wanted this bird, so he got caught up in the bidding. He kept on bidding, but kept getting outbid, so he bid higher and higher and higher.

Finally, after he bid way more than he intended, he won the bid - the parrot was his at last!

As he was paying for the parrot, he said to the Auctioneer, "I sure hope this parrot can talk. I would hate to have paid this much for it, only to find out that he can't talk!"

"Don't worry." said the Auctioneer, "He can talk. Who do you think kept bidding against you?"
