Today weβre shining the spotlight on Michaela Anne Clover! π Michaela is the primary day charge RN for our Family Birthing Center, secondary night charge for the Family Birthing Center and also a staff nurse on 400. Her dedication, versatility and compassionate care make her an invaluable part of our team. Michaela has been part of the OSF HealthCare family for 12 years and continues to embody our Mission every day caring with the greatest love and respect for those we serve.
βMy favorite part of being a labor and delivery nurse is having a front-row seat for one of life's biggest moments and standing beside families in every kind of birth story,β Michaela shared. βWhether itβs the joy of first-time parents, the tears of a new dad, or the quiet, sad sniffles of parents meeting their angel baby β each familyβs story matters. Iβm honored to give them care, love, and dignity in every moment here at the Family Birthing Center.β
She continued, βI love being there at the bedside to support parents through the highs, lows, tears, fear, and unknown of childbirth empowering women to do things they didnβt know they could, and witnessing them overcome those fears. Another cherished part of my job is seeing a dad cry in the delivery room. Itβs like watching a groom tear up at the altar but with more adrenaline, exhaustion, awe, love and shock. One is about saying βI do,β the other is about saying βHelloβ to the tiny human who just made you a dad. And nothing beats that first newborn cryβ¦ except maybe the moment I can say, βYou did it!β and she realizes sheβs officially joined one of the greatest clubs ever β motherhood.β
βI serve my patients with the greatest care and love by treating each one as if they were my own family listening without judgment, advocating for their needs, offering comfort in tough moments, and celebrating every birth, no matter the situation. Whether itβs holding a hand through a contraction, celebrating that first diaper change, or offering reassurance when plans change during labor, I want every family to feel heard, supported, and respected. Itβs not just about medical care itβs about human connection, compassion, and making sure every patient feels seen, heard, understood, and cared for on every level.β
Outside of work, Michaela is married to the love of her life, Tyler (celebrating 5 years this October). Sheβs a proud mom to Payten (16) and Nolan (10), a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan,and a dog mom to two goofy Brittany boys. Sheβs also a 16-year breast cancer survivor with a message for all: βGet your ta-tas checked and do your self-exams!β π
Thank you, Michaela, for the incredible difference you make in the lives of our patients, families, and colleagues every day! π
