Chris Postin sat down with Dr. Samuel Vazquez to talk about the new Intuitive da Vinci 5 Robotic Surgical System at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

🌱 In this episode of Galesburg In Focus, WGIL’s Chris Postin sat down with Dr. Nathaniel Baker, Managing Medical Director and ER Director at OSF HealthCare St. Mary Medical Center.

Dr. Baker shared the story behind our brand-new Community Garden, located behind the Galesburg Clinic. Through partnerships with local FFA chapters, this garden is helping provide fresh produce while building stronger community connections. 🥕🍅

He also highlighted the exciting $5 million Emergency Room expansion underway at OSF St. Mary. The project will add 7,000 square feet, including six new treatment rooms and a triage room—enhancing emergency care for our region.

Both of these initiatives reflect our Mission: improving health care access and well-being for all in West Central Illinois. 💜

Meet Kitlynn “Kit” Stinson, Supervisor Physician Office RN for OSFMG Knoxville, Galesburg Family, and Abingdon Clinics.
Kit’s OSF journey began back in 1996 as a nurse technician on the surgical floor at OSF St. Mary Medical Center while attending nursing school. After serving as a primary care and triage nurse in Knoxville, she now leads and supports multiple OSFMG clinics with her passion for nursing and patient care.
💜 Why she loves her role:
“I love being a nurse! It is an honor and privilege to be part of someone’s journey. Witnessing perseverance in the face of adversity has shaped my perspective on what is truly important. I treasure every connection I’ve made with patients and fellow caregivers throughout my career.”
🙏 What serving with the greatest care and love means to Kit:
“Showing up and standing in the gap for those in need. Extending grace, meeting people right where they are in life, being compassionate, and leading with your heart.”

Join us starting September 11 through October 30 for Moms on the Move at the Warren County YMCA!

This group is the perfect opportunity for caregivers to enjoy low-impact physical activity, make new connections, and explore meaningful topics in parenthood.
