Well, the weather outside was frightful, but the band, the company, the treats and Santa sure were DELIGHTFUL!
There is a lot of appreciation to share: Thank you to all of our guests who braved the snow to join us for our annual Christmas Celebration! Thank you to the Kensington team members who work magic all year long but really show up during the holidays. Thank you to The Galesburg Jammers for another joyful performance. And of course, thank you to good ol’ Saint Nick - it wouldn’t be Christmas without you!

The residents and employees at The Kensington took a donation of food, blankets and other supplies to the Knox County Humane Society today. A couple of our ladies even made hand sewn cat pads. Hopefully, while at the shelter, the many adoptable furry friends available will find comfort in some of these items!

We would like to take a moment to thank all of our veterans for their service to our country. Also, special thanks to Army Veteran Representative Dan Swanson, who is always so gracious with his time and goes above and beyond for military veterans and local Illinois residents. Representative Swanson presented Kensington veterans with certificates of recognition this afternoon. Happy Veteran’s Day!

Thank you to all that came to our annual Fall Ball! 🍁🍂 We had a beautiful evening with friends and family, a wonderful performance by David Wright, delicious food, and lots of amazing door prizes. Thank you also to The Kensington crew who helped pull this together!

It’s spooky season again! We’re accepting donations of unopened, individually wrapped Halloween candy to give out to the ghouls and goblins at the annual Treat Street event. So if you’re in the neighborhood, feel free to feed the monster and stop by on October 25th from 11a-1p during Treat Street for a haunting good time!

Happy Grandparents Day! Today we hosted an ice cream social to celebrate the wisdom, love, and warmth of our grandparents — the ones who always have a story to tell, a hug to give, and a lesson to share. 💛

Also, we are so lucky to be able to celebrate a very special 105th Birthday!!! Happy Birthday, Erma. Your Kensington Family is honored to share this milestone with you!

We LOVE our 2nd floor terrace! The breeze, the plants, and the sunshine feed our souls. The Orpheum construction crew is just an added bonus. 😏 Wishing our friends and neighbors a speedy project as they preserve our historic theater!
