Updated information as of 12.13.23:
We have created a Disaster Relief Hub to provide information on volunteering for disaster relief efforts, donating to the disaster relief fund, and relief information for disaster victims. Please check this site frequently for the latest information on how you can help your neighbors in need!

During times of crisis and need, United Way’s network, our colleagues at The Red Cross, and partners step up to help rebuild lives and strengthen communities. We appreciate that support, and want to thank everyone who has helpedβ€”and continues to help.

We have launched United Way of Sumner County Disaster Relief Fund to help meet needs in our community. 100% of your gift to the United Way of Sumner County Disaster Fund goes to help our neighbors and our community recover from the December 9th Tornado. Thank you for your generosity.

We have exciting news! Salvus Center is excited to announce our new partnership and merger with Neighborhood Health! Beginning January 15th, 2024, we will operate as Neighborhood Health at Salvus Center. This merger means we can have the most significant impact and serve more in the community in new ways, including access to dental care and behavioral health services.

Any patient will be welcome at Salvus Center, including those with TennCare, CoverKids, private insurance, and those without the ability to pay. We are grateful to our loyal patients and supporters and look forward to serving the Sumner County community in more ways as we continue this process throughout the year. Thank you! πŸ’›

"Let's recognize that we each can drive an enormous amount of positive change by rooting our everyday actions, decisions, and behavior in radical generosity - the concept that the suffering of others should be as intolerable to us as our own suffering."

Join us Tuesday, November 28, 2023, and get involved in your community with organizations such as Salvus Center, where all donations contribute to the health and welfare of the working uninsured in Sumner County.

Instead of tossing those holiday leftovers to avoid more over-indulging, use them to your advantage! Here are some tips to help you reduce food waste and space out the calories:

β€’ GIVE IT AWAY NOW
- If you are hosting a holiday event, be prepared with resealable plastic bags and food storage containers handy to send guests home with goodies. 🍰πŸͺ

β€’ ZIP IT REAL GOOD
- When you are putting away leftovers, be sure to store everything in airtight containers. Doing this allows the food to stay fresh longer so you have more time to space out your leftover meals. πŸ—

β€’ CHILL OUT
- Put your freezer to useβ€” foods like soups, cooked vegetables, breads, pastries and cookies freeze very well and can be thawed for later enjoyment. πŸ₯¦πŸžπŸ²

β€’ RECREATE THE PLATE
- Use small portions of leftover turkey, roast beef or ham along with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables for sandwiches, salads, wraps or a light main course. 🍽️πŸ₯ͺ

Eating healthy doesn't have to mean giving up your favorite foods in favor of a completely new way of life. Rather, adopting healthy adjustments may be as simple as substituting typical calorie offenders for heart-healthy options. 🍏πŸ₯œπŸ₯•
