Kenneth House passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2025, in White House, Tennessee, at the age of 83. Born on June 25, 1942, in London, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Louis Earl House and Mava Cornette House. Kenneth dedicated his life to both his family and his passion for diesel repair.

As the owner and operator of his own diesel repair shop, Kenneth was known for his exceptional skills and enthusiasm for fixing up old trucks. His hands-on approach and comprehensive understanding of machinery earned him the respect and admiration of many in the field.

Kenneth’s heart, however, was not confined to his work alone. He cherished his role as a family man and took great joy in his grandchildren. Memories of his love for them will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. On many occasions, when his health permitted, he attended College Heights Baptist Church, where he was part of a community that uplifted him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Judy House; son Jimmy House; brother Earl House; sisters Lee Warren and Martha Lehan.

He is survived by his son, Kenny Wayne (Lori) House, and his grandchildren: Erica Russell, Lindsey Andrews, and Ashley (Matt) Blazer, along with his great-grandchildren Robert, Bayleigh, Benton, and Nolan. They, along with all who had the privilege of knowing Kenneth, will remember him for his warmth, dedication, and the love he shared throughout his life.

As we honor Kenneth House's legacy, we remember not only his professional accomplishments but also the profound impact he had on his family and friends. His spirit will continue to live on in the cherished memories of those he loved.

Betty Francis Reiter, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at her home in Bethpage, Tennessee, on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on March 11, 1942, in Robertson County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Joe Wooten and Mable F. Price Wooten. Betty brought warmth and joy to the lives of those around her.

Betty had a passion for baking, which she embraced as a way to express her love for her family. Each Christmas, she would dedicate her time to creating large care packages filled with her delicious baked goods, spreading cheer to her family during the holiday season. Among her many culinary achievements, Betty was known for her "World Famous" jelly, a special treat that her grandson would sell, showcasing her skills and entrepreneurial spirit.

Beyond her culinary talents, Betty enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. She found joy in basketweaving and swimming, activities that allowed her to connect with nature and unwind. Every year, she cherished the time spent on an annual trip with her close friends, where laughter and camaraderie filled their adventures.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Joyce Richard, Joann George, Christine Wooten Littleton, Mary Wooten Taylor, and John Wayne Wooten.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, James Reiter, and her devoted daughters, Sherry (Rob) Hay and Katy (Mike) Ley. She took great pride in her grandchildren, Bobby (Naima) Hay, Drake (Amanda) Hay, Cory (Anna) Ley, and Brandon Ley, and found immense delight in being a great-grandmother to Celise Hay. Her brother, Bob Wooten, and several nieces & nephews also survive her.

Betty's life will be celebrated on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. The visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and will precede the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Following the service, a graveside ceremony will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Springfield at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

The memory of Betty will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, as they reflect on the love, laughter, and countless memories shared throughout her remarkable life.

She graduated from Ole Miss and retired as an Assistant Director for the 4 Lake Developement.

Donna is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jerry Arrington; her brother, Rodney (Cindy) Edwards; her sister, Wanda (Ronnie) Aldy; and several nieces and nephews.

John Ralph Barry

John Ralph Barry, 90, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Born August 6, 1935, in Robertson County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late John Melvin Barry and Lottie West Barry. John led a life marked by dedication, service, and a love for nature.

A proud veteran, John served his country honorably in the United States Navy. This commitment to duty extended into his professional life, where he worked at General Electric, overseeing receiving and shipping operations. Following the acquisition of GE by Bosch, John retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity.

Outside of his professional endeavors, John cherished time spent outdoors. He had a profound appreciation for nature, often engaging in gardening, bird watching, and fishing—all activities that brought him joy and peace. His connection to the earth reflected his caring nature and desire to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Margaret Louise Barry, Ruby Mae Barry Smiley, Martha Rhea Barry Hobdy, Anna Laura Barry Goetz, Nell Barry Henry, Jean Barry Johnson, James Phillip Barry, and Ronald Wayne Barry.

John is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Marilyn Barry, and their son, Glenn Barry.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate John’s life during the following services: A visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both taking place at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. John will be laid to rest in a burial service with military graveside honors at Sumner Memorial Gardens.

John will be remembered fondly for his dedication to family, service to his country, and his zest for life. His contributions to the lives of those who knew him will be cherished and celebrated for years to come.

Betty Ferrell Bowling

Betty Ferrell Bowling passed away at the age of 81 on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Betty was born in Nashville, though she resided for the entirety of her life in Gallatin, Tenn.

She graduated from Gallatin High School in 1962 and was recognized by her classmates with the superlative of “Best Personality.” Betty received her Bachelor of Arts in education from Middle Tennessee State University, then later earned her master’s in education at Tennessee State University. She went on to be known as Ms. Bowling to her countless students at Union Elementary and other schools within the Sumner County School System for more than 40 years.

Betty was lovingly known as “Bey” by her grandchildren, and that name was then adopted by many others who loved her. Gathering with her family, friends and neighbors was of the utmost importance to her. Betty could often be found on a walk with her dog Boca, golfing, reading, playing cards with her dear friends, or working on a puzzle. She also had a passion for watching sports and discussing the highlights with her boys.

A faithful member of First Baptist Gallatin for over 50 years, Betty served as a Sunday school teacher, participated in mission trips, taught VBS, and served wherever necessary.

She is survived by her two sons, Chanc Bowling of Gallatin and Bo (Jill) Bowling of Gallatin; grandsons Zachary Bowling of Nashville, Philip (Olivia) Bowling of Nashville, and Drew Bowling of Gallatin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Neva Ferrell, her beloved sister Lucy, and her very best friend Ann “Buttercup” Wright.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary at First Baptist Gallatin, with Dr. Travis Fleming officiating. Visitation will also be held in the sanctuary at 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

Pallbearers will be Scott Carter, Chad Coley, David Coley, Jeff Draper, David Johnson, and Patrick Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Montee Beaty, Kay Gillespie, Susan Hampton, Connie Kittrell, Marilyn Kittrell, Sara Jones, Nancy Roth, Joan Schmidt, Brad Schreiner, and Linda Webster.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to First Baptist Gallatin or Alive Hospice.

The family will miss their beloved Bey beyond words but find comfort in the fact she is in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Wanda F. Bond, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025, in Gallatin, Tennessee, just days before her 78th birthday. Born on December 23, 1947, in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late John Holmes Ferriss and Alice Louise Greer Coggin.

Wanda graduated from Goodlettsville High School in the class of 1965, where she met her high school sweetheart, Jeff Bond. Their love story blossomed into a marriage that spanned 58 wonderful years. Together, they cultivated a home filled with warmth and laughter, raising their daughter, Andrea, who would later gift them the joy of being grandparents to Abby.

A talented individual, Wanda was one of the first employees hired by the Oscar Meyer company, serving as an administrator. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Wanda was a woman of deep compassion and kindness. She was a passionate dog lover, often taking in dogs that had been abandoned, tirelessly finding them caring homes whenever her family would not allow her to keep them herself. This generous spirit extended to all aspects of her life.

Wanda cherished music and shared that passion with others through her work as a piano teacher and choir director at Walkers United Methodist Church, where she also played piano for the congregation. Her love for the American rock band Eagles was well-known and was reflective of her vibrant personality and joy for life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather Giles C. Coggin.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff Bond; daughter, Andrea Bond Jacquin and her husband, Dave; granddaughter, Abby Jacquin; cousin, Jane Haynie; sisters-in-law Judith Hitch and Karen (Joel) Matchak; brother-in-law Gregg Bond; her four legged companion, Molly; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. These family members will forever hold cherished memories of her kindness and influence in their lives.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 27, 2025, starting with visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center located at 584 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066. Later that day, a Celebration of Life will be held at Walker's United Methodist Church at 2947 Lower Walkers Creek Rd., Goodlettsville, TN 37072, beginning at 2:00 PM.

Wanda will be remembered for her boundless love, her enduring spirit, and the profound impact she had on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of compassion and music will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

John Thomas Akers

John Thomas Akers ll, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Gallatin, Tennessee, on December 13, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 31, 1942, in Owensboro, Kentucky, John lived a life full of devotion, integrity, and dedication to his family and country.

John proudly served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, achieving the rank of Munitions Systems Supervisor and Inflight Refueling Manager. John was AF rank: E-9, Chief Master Sergeant; He earned several Air Medals, recognitions, and awards during his tenure. His commitment to service did not end upon retirement; he continued to display a passion for his country. John inspired those around him with his outstanding character, honesty, and loyalty.

John also owned and operated his own construction business building houses across East Tennessee and West Virginia. His pride in his work was evident, as well as his appearance. John and the men in his charge were affectionately known as the "Gucci Boys."

John was fiercely devoted to his family. An avid golfer, he cherished the times spent playing on the green and enjoying coffee with his close-knit group of friends. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and had a passion for college sports, particularly for Alabama.

John leaves behind his devoted wife, Beverly Akers; son, Kevin Akers (Jackie) of Allen, Texas; daughter, Elizabeth Wallin (Chris); grandson, Kole Akers (Madi) of Brentwood, Tennessee; and his newborn great-granddaughter, Raley Anne Akers, also of Brentwood, Tennessee. He is also survived by brothers David Akers of Goshen, Kentucky, Jack Akers of Birmingham, Alabama, and Pat Akers of Salt Lake City, Utah; and sisters Judy Villa of California, Margaret Thurman of Owensboro, Kentucky, Kathy Foster of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Becky Dully of Mooresville, North Carolina. He is fondly remembered by his closest friends, Sandy McClendon and Bobby Hennings.

John was preceded in death by his father, Roy Akers; mother, Mary Jane (Castlen) Akers; sister, Janie Matthews; and brother, Phil Akers.

The Akers family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Alive Hospice for their compassionate care during his final days. The Akers family kindly request memorial donations in honor of John be made to Alive Hospice.

John's legacy of love, loyalty, and integrity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.

The family will be conducting a private celebration of John's life, but there will be an opportunity for friends and neighbors to pay their respects at a later time.

William R. Hutchins, affectionately known as Mr. Bill, was born on September 3, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. He entered into rest on December 12, 2025, in Gallatin, Tennessee. Bill was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather whose life was marked by an unwavering commitment to his family and a profound passion for music.

Bill's career was characterized by his remarkable work ethic; he often held three or four jobs simultaneously to ensure the well-being of his loved ones. For an impressive span of 54 years, he served as a Cad operator with La Marche Manufacturing, where his reliability and skill made a lasting impact. In addition to his full-time job, Bill pursued his passion for music by establishing Lombard Music, a music and guitar repair store that served the music community in Illinois.

Described as dependable, giving, and caring, Bill's personality was defined by his quiet nature and generosity. He demonstrated his love and affection for his family through the tireless efforts he made to support them. His legacy of hard work and devotion will be cherished by all who knew him.

Music was a significant part of Bill's life. He enjoyed playing guitar and participated in various bands, performing gigs every weekend. His passion for jazz music was especially profound. Bill also found joy in watching old movies, a pastime that allowed him to connect with the nostalgia of earlier times.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Judy Hutchins; his daughter, Valerie Anderson and her husband, Craig; his son, Richard Hutchins and his wife, Eileen; and his cherished grandchildren, Drew Anderson and his wife, Hope; Chloe Messina; and Dalton Hutchins. He also leaves behind a great-granddaughter, Azshara Messina.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Hutchins, and his mother, Frances Hutchins.

As we remember Bill, let us honor his legacy of hard work, love, and devotion to family, as well as his passion for music that inspired so many. His spirit will continue to resonate through the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.

Ann Margarette (Constable) Graves, age 90, of Hartsville, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, December 8th, 2025. She was born in Cambridge, England, on November 4th, 1935. It was in England that Ann met the love of her life, Jeffrey When he was trying to steal her chips, outside the fish and chip shop. They were married on January 5th, 1957, and shared 68 years of marriage filled with love and companionship. Ann was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and nana. Her grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life, and her caring nature extended beyond family to the animals she cherished, especially her dogs. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Ann is survived by her beloved husband Jeffrey Graves; daughters Sharon Henry (Keith) and Joanne Graves; and grandchildren Colin Kerkmaz, Shawn Kerkmaz, Donovan Kerkmaz, and Phoenix Kerkmaz. She is preceded in death by her father, Reginald Constable; mother, Edith (Pond) Constable; and brother, Stanley Constable. A memorial service honoring Ann will be held at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Sunday, December 21st, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. Family visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Christopher Michael Johnson

Christopher “Michael” Johnson, age 48, passed away on December 7, 2025, in Gallatin, Tennessee surrounded by those who loved him. He was born on March 24, 1977, in Shelby, North Carolina. Michael is survived by his loving parents, Phyllis Johnson and Johnny Johnson; his sister, Jill Dennison, and her husband, Evan; his brother, John Alan Johnson; his nephews, Nicholas Dennison and Nolan Dennison (Emma); and, many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved him immensely and provided much comfort in his final days. He cherished his family deeply and found great joy in spending time with them. Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, James Vant and Flora Ann Walker and Junior and Christine Johnson.

A lifelong fan of DC Comics, Michael especially adored Green Lantern and Conner Kent. His creativity knew no bounds. He loved to write and draw, often creating superhero characters inspired by people he met. If you were kind to Michael, you might soon find yourself immortalized as a hero in one of his imaginative stories.

Michael carried a deep and unwavering faith from an early age, a strength that became the foundation of his character. Throughout his life, he faced numerous challenges brought on by his illnesses - moments that would have discouraged many. Yet, despite physical setbacks, emotional strain, and periods of uncertainty, he continually drew upon his belief in something greater than himself. His faith guided his decisions, comforted him in difficult times, and inspired resilience when the path forward seemed unclear. It became not only a source of personal endurance but also a beacon for those around him, who witnessed how steadfastly he held onto hope even in the harshest seasons of his life.

Michael was an active and devoted member of Frontline Church in Gallatin, where he found a welcoming home and meaningful community.

Michael had a profound and lifelong love for South Mountain Christian Camp, where he spent many years as both a camper and a counselor. The camp and its community played a defining role in his life, shaping his faith and character in lasting ways. Michael loved to talk about his time at South Mountain and the people he met there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Mountain Christian Camp, 1129 South Mountain Rd, Bostic, NC 28018, in honor of Michael’s enduring connection to the place he loved so dearly.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at Alexander Funeral Home on December 11, 2025. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a service at 1:00 p.m.

Michael will be remembered for his kindness, his compassion, and the light he brought to everyone who knew him. May his memory be a blessing.
