The application for the 2025 Ohio Governor’s Disability-Inclusive Employer Award is now open. Established through Executive Order 2019-03D, this annual award recognizes employers with exemplary disability-inclusive practices. Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) oversees the application process and will recommend recipients to Governor DeWine. Employers earning top scores will receive the award, and those scoring 80 points or more will be formally recognized during National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October. Applications are due by 11:45 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025. More details and the PDF version of the application can be found at ood.ohio.gov.

Mobile Changing Station is hanging out down at the Gallia County Fair this week!
This vehicle will allow individuals with developmental disabilities to have a space private and large enough to efficiently have disposables and clothing changed without missing out on any of the action at the fair!
The changing station will be open from 6-9 pm daily as well as open tomorrow during the “Day in the Ring” event. Make sure to stop by and say hi!

PARENTS!!!

If you're visiting the Gallia County Jr. Fair this week with your young children, please stop by our command truck (located by Gate 2), and get one of these child safe bracelets. Theses bracelets will be distributed to all of the entry points coming into the fair as well.

These bracelets will aid our staff in helping to reunite you and your child in the event that you get separated during your visit.
