The Mosaic Foundation was proud to award a $1,500 scholarship to a student pursuing a career in healthcare at the MBCA AC Foundation Annual Spring Scholarship Luncheon held at Resorts Casino Hotel. In attendance were Mosaic Foundation board members Shirley Bernstein and Janice Cambron and Director of Philanthropy Erin Luurtsema. Together, we celebrate the next generation of healthcare professionals and the bright future ahead.

Throwback Thursday: A fully equipped barber shop and beauty salon, television rooms, and a spacious lobby were just some of the thoughtful amenities at the Hebrew Old Age Home in the 1960s. There also was a large auditorium for parties, dances, movies, Bingo, and other entertainment. Volunteers performed the barber shop and beauty services and also assisted residents in letter writing and “other necessary tasks.”

The “new and modern building” at the Hebrew Old Age Center was touted in a 1964 ad in the Press of Atlantic City. At the time, the building was recently expanded to include 151 beds to care for the elderly.
