Biography

Lindsay first began practicing yoga in late 2014, while living in Denver, Colorado. Like so many new to yoga, she came seeking the physical benefits of asana. In her mind, she wanted to become the somewhat cliche, ideal yogi: a physically fit, mentally healthy, carefree hippie, nonplussed by the annoyances and trials of everyday life. Someone who maintains a confident, kind, calm, and loving spirit under all circumstances. And so, she tried it on, like a cute pair of yoga pants that you really, really want, but that don't quite fit. It was challenging for sure, and often felt awkward. But even through that cloudy, cliched lens she noticed real changes happening. Lindsay had felt the transformative powers of yoga!

Although Lindsay initially came to yoga for a stronger and healthier body, she stayed for so many other reasons. Yoga has helped her through grieving the loss of her mother, uprooting her life several times (relocating and changing careers), and giving her the confidence to find her truth and feel at home in her own body. After moving to Rapid City, South Dakota, in 2015, Lindsay’s dedication to her practice and interest in all things yoga became even more evident. Here she found community through Core Connections, Sol Yoga, and The SD Yoga Conference, where she participated in several workshops and experienced many different styles of yoga. She has dabbled in Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Kundalini, Bhakti and Yin, but discovered her preferred style, alignment-based flow yoga, while attending yoga teacher training.

Lindsay completed her 200-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) certificate through the Dharma Institute for Awakened Living at Blossom Yoga in Laramie, Wyoming, in March of 2018. Here she studied under Jess Ryan, Emily Brown, and Stephany Long. Her training helped deepen her understanding of yoga and dharma, and now she is ready to spread that understanding to others. Lindsay also believes that yoga should be practiced naturally, not obsessively, and teaches alignment-based flow yoga, inspired and aided by conscious living. Her classes are designed to help awaken the soul, strengthen the body, and ease the mind. She aims to facilitate an intimate relationship between you and your practice that grows to exist between you and your own life.
