Week 3 Update: The Beat Goes On

It’s been three weeks since we launched Hope for Ravion, and we are humbled by the incredible love and generosity that have carried us this far.

Today was extra special — it was Ravion’s 15th birthday!
Every year is a precious milestone for this young fighter,

Thanks to you, Natalie has been able to get help with Ravion’s therapy, keep nutritious meals on hand, and finally find a little rest and recovery. A new therapist has joined their journey bringing smiles, relief, and a renewed sense of hope.

Your compassion has given this family the strength to thrive rather than merely survive. Because of your kindness, their days are a little brighter.

As we look ahead, the community is coming together for a beautiful evening of music, fellowship, and hope — Rockin’ with Ravion, a local gathering to raise awareness and lift spirits for families facing Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, in the spirit of Natalie’s vision for healing and unity.

We are constantly on the lookout for products, ideas and solutions to Restore Ravion . On our journey to heal Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy we have discovered the amazing power of breastmilk!

It was shortly after breastfeeding Ravion that he began to show more significantly the signs of DMD. Which in turn caused me to look further into a diagnosis.

There are so many amazing properties to breastmilk for healing and we are not limiting ourselves.

We are absolutely grateful that Ravion was able to come home Monday without any surgery! A pink cast... of course! We rocked our new T-shirts in the hospital and made the best of our stay.

We appreciate everyone's prayers and messages of concern, love and support!

Please continue to send those healing vibes as Ravion is in a lot of pain and refuses pain meds.

Just as we were all enjoying ourselves at FloteFest 2022 our adventure took an unexpected turn.

Ravion had an accident with his wheel chair causing him to fall out. This caused a Distal Femur fracture. He is currently in the hospital for proper care and resting.

He had a very difficult night trying to sleep through his pain. He is so brave for refusing any pain meds after having an unwanted side effect from one dose of fentanyl. He muscled through the splinting process and transfers without meds. We are so proud of him for standing up for his body autonomy and listening to his body.

We are also very happy that the hospital is not enforcing any mask, testing or vaccines to enter the building!

Good morning FB Family!

As we continue on our journey to healing we are tripped up by a major setback. Our amazing Occupational Therapist has informed us that this week is her final week with the company. We are sad to see her go as she has gone above and beyond to give Ravion the best care. We wish her well on her next journey!!

This brings us back to square one. Ravion is in need of not only OT but Physical Therapy and Massage Therapy as well. We are willing to hire or accept volunteers that are students in the realm of PT/OT/MT or even Personal Trainers or gym enthusiast who are willing to spend a few hours a week to stretch and exercise Ravion. If you are none of these but just have a heart to help we welcome you to inquire.

We have a number of tools to work with including a pool. The pool has been the greatest asset to Ravions effort to increase mobility. We are able to heat the pool for the winter time.
