Celebrating Our Member of the Month: Dr. William Weiss
Dr. William Weiss, an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and complex extremity reconstruction, is being recognized as our Member of the Month. A graduate of Queen’s University with residency training at University of Ottawa, he holds dual board certification in Canada and the United States. He completed three fellowships across Canada and the U.S. and now leads the Sports Medicine & Performance Program at University of Texas Medical Branch, where he integrates injury prevention, surgical care, and rehabilitation for athletes at all levels.
Dr. Weiss has held key leadership roles, including Director of Research and Medical Director of Sports Medicine in El Paso, caring for athletes, military personnel, and complex trauma cases. He remains deeply engaged in research and education, serves on multiple editorial boards, and is Chair of Communications and Editor-in-Chief of the COA Bulletin for the Canadian Orthopaedic Association.
A dedicated contributor to the orthopaedic community, Dr. Weiss continues to advance clinical care, research, and education while mentoring the next generation of surgeons.
