Our oil is made by distillation, like a fine whiskey. There are 2 ways to refine hemp oils, one is distillation, which is a gentle process. The oil comes out clear and clean with no bitter taste. This is what we use. No flavors added! The other process is chromatography, which uses harsh chemical solvents. It leaves herby bitter tastes which most companies cover by adding flavors. You hear a lot about "bioavailability" and "nano technology"... There are three "bases" for edible hemp: oils, sugars, and PG (propylene glycol). In an oil your body processes the hemp more slowly, you metabolize oils slowly, so it starts working in about an hour, stays in the system for 10 to 12 hours, time for your next dose, so you have a nice even level in your system. Sugars metabolize fast, so if you have pain from working out or a headache coming on, sugar is your best bet. It starts to metabolize in about 15 minutes, last 2 to 4 hours. PG is usually used for vaping products, but also can be taken orally. It is thick and gloppy, and is quickly metabolized. Most products that claim "higher biovailabilty" are water soluble, and, as such, are made with isolates. Hemp is an oil, and is not water soluble, so it is encapsulated (this is where the nano technology comes in) in water soluble molecules. Isolate is fine, but does not contain all the terpenes which give hemp the "entourage" effects that make it so powerful and effective. Our oil is presented in a coconut oil base or "carrier" because coconut oil is natural, and less "greasy" or "heavy" than olive oil or other oils that could be used as a carrier. Terpenes are wonderful parts of hemp (and other) plants that help with many conditions, and provide a boost to our oils. Ours is "broad spectrum" which means all the terpenes are left in it. Why does hemp oil work for us? Because we have an "endocannabinoid" system, and the oil is cannabidiol. When you take our oil, the two kiss, love each other, and make things feel better. Hemp oil is not addictive. It blocks pain through different pathways than opiods do. Many doctors actually use it to wean people off opiods. How quickly will you experience results? Usually within an hour or two for oral oil based, 15 minutes for sugar based. How do I know how much to take? The "normal" adult dose is 17 to 35 mg a day. Start with 17 or so. Take that for 3 days. If that is enough, stay at that dose. You do not develop a "tolerance" for it, so once you find your ideal dose, that will be your dose as long as you take it, unless something changes with your health condition. If 17 is not enough, go to the full 35 mg. After 3 days evaluate. Frank takes 100 mg a day, but that is because of the brain cancer, a hip replacement that tore the ligament in his leg, and nerve damage done by the brain surgery. There has been no "overdose" limit found so far. There is an ongoing study with people in hospice who are being given 120000 (twelve THOUSAND!!!!!) mg a day.
