Celebrating a beautiful full-circle moment 🤍

On Liza Lawrence Day, we honored our CEO not just for her proclamation, but for the heart behind it—the work she continues to do to uplift and advocate for the neurodivergent community.

And in true Liza fashion, she chose to spend the day giving back… alongside our executive team, serving and supporting local families with food distribution in partnership with the Galveston County Food Bank.

Because for her, it’s never about recognition—it’s about impact, community, and showing up where it matters most.

Thank you to the leadership at the Galveston County Food Bank for the opportunity to serve together.

Happy Proclamation Day, Liza 🤍 Your work continues to touch lives in the most meaningful ways.

Grateful for a powerful evening connecting with our community and partners as we continue expanding access to mental health services across the mainland.

A special thank you to our CEO, Liza Lawrence , Board President Chris Homer, and Chief Clinical Officer Fanta Hardwell for leading the conversation and sharing our vision.

From at-risk to thriving, we’re proud to support individuals and families at every stage—while giving our partners the opportunity to meet our clinicians and engage in meaningful 1:1 conversations.

This is what community, connection, and care truly look like.

Showing up, connecting, and strengthening community partnerships.

Family Service Center’s Director of Marketing and Outreach, Kresenda Foreman, and Outreach Specialist, Laura Arce, attended the 4th Annual Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Resource Fair at Walter Hall Park Banquet Hall, presented by the Children’s Services Board of Galveston County.

This event created space to connect with community partners, share resources, and continue building relationships that support children and families across our region. FSC was proud to represent our mission and highlight the services we provide to ensure individuals and families have access to the care and support they need.

Together, through partnership and presence, we continue the work of strengthening families and transforming lives.

A true full circle moment rooted in purpose, growth, and impact.

Family Service Center was honored to witness our Chief Executive Officer, Liza Lawrence , serve as the keynote speaker for the Legacy of Hope Scholarship Gala hosted by In Schools of Galveston County.

The moment was made even more powerful as our Director of Marketing and Outreach, Kresenda Foreman, introduced Liza. Kresenda is a proud product of CIS Galveston County and once served as a Site Coordinator, representing the very mission of the organization in action.

Standing alongside her was Executive Director Edward P. Grogan III, who is also a product of CIS Galveston County and previously served as a Site Coordinator. Together, they are living proof of what happens when students are supported, poured into, and given the opportunity to succeed.

This was more than a gala. It was a reflection of legacy in motion.

Liza spoke directly to the students, delivering a message that resonated far beyond the stage. She reminded them to keep going, even when life does not unfold the way they planned. Through her own journey, she showed that success is still possible, even when the path looks different than expected.

An unforgettable night that showed the true impact of investing in our youth and the power of coming full circle.

In Galveston County, children with developmental differences, including autism, are at a significantly higher risk of experiencing abuse and neglect compared to their peers. Studies show that children with disabilities are nearly 3 times more likely to be victims of abuse—highlighting the urgent need for awareness, prevention, and support.

This is why Autism Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month go hand in hand.

At Family Service Center, we are committed to educating our community, strengthening families, and providing resources that promote safe, supportive environments for every child. Early intervention, caregiver support, and community awareness all play a critical role in prevention.

When we understand the risks, we can respond with compassion, protection, and action.

Together, we can create a safer Galveston County for all children.
