At 40 weeks and 5 days our second beautiful boy joined our family! On Wednesday the 23rd, I had an appointment with the midwives and spent the day with my son. We got home in the evening and I walked up and down our driveway and yard while my son played. I hadn't experienced any prodromal labor or any sign that labor was coming. That night at about 10:30 I started noticing some cramping that was coming and going. My son woke up and while I put him back to bed they kept coming so I decided to start timing them. I went and told my husband things might be happening and he went to sleep just incase. I called my mom and mother in law to give them the heads up too. At around midnight I called Jaymee and let her know. We are 2 hours from the birth center so we decided to head down early in the morning and got a hotel at 7 am. We rested in the hotel and my water broke at 9:33 am. We headed over to the birth center at 1:30. I had my wonderful husband, mom, mother in law, and step dad all there supporting me. Got into the birth tub, which was amazing. Pushed for 17 minutes and baby boy was born at 2:45 pm. Got to do delayed cord clamping, check out the placenta, and hold my baby on me the whole time. There was no greater feeling than lifting him out of the water knowing that we did it. Baby was passed to daddy while Jaymee and Kellie helped clean me off so carefully. Having a good birth team is truly a blessing, I definitely felt cared for. Got into the bed, did skin on skin, nursed and got all the sweet pictures before Jaymee came in to weigh and check him out. 6 lbs 10 oz, 18 3/4 inches long on 8/24/23! 🤍 We ordered some food from Millers and had the best chicken fried steak, Mac and cheese, and rolls! We got home at around 8 pm that night and got to meet big brother!
